Loobin it might be worth checking with BT you've still got an engineer coming out on Thursday they've cancelled ours saying that they've still got things to configure before they can install the line. They're phoning on the next week to rearrange the appointment. Yep I got the exact same email/text I don't understand why they can't even just come and pop a phone line in?? What's so difficult if all these houses are pre wired? Depends if your having fibre BB to your home ... it will need to be blown into the premises, exchange end will need work etc ... unfortunately there's a lot of work involved with installing fibre to the home If it was copper then that's pre-wired in most cases and you would probably be switched on within a few days of ordering.

I wouldn't even know how to find all this out? I've been reading this thread and I feel like I'm reading Japanese when I called BT they can't find anything on our street and when you speak to the site men they say that's why the white wires are hanging outside your house, someone needs to come and connect it up and pop a little grey box on the outside of your house... And I can see a few grey boxes on the street. I'm baffled

Openreach have been on waverley walk loads even had them in the house looking at where to put the boxes. They seam to have wired upto the house (grey box on the outside) and just need to come back to do the inside. I get there's a lot of bits to do but think three months is overly long.

Cheers

We've been waiting since Christmas also. Have been now told by Virgin that we'll get landline connected end of this month but Fibre won't be till another 4 weeks (at least) still don't understand the hold up.

It's very strange that its taking so long, we were told originally by the Harron Homes Sales team that Virgin would have the infrastructure set up on the estate ready for when people move in. Guess that's a little fictional by the sounds of things.

Just got home to a card from openreach saying they've called to carry out work. So they've cancelled yesterdays appointment told us they'd contact us next week to arrange a new then just randomly turn up out of the blue. Have they been to anyone else.
