Hi
Has anyone on Waverley walk got broadband? I have just rang BT and they can't see anyone connected which is strange as the site men are saying the cables hanging outside the house are broadband and phone cables and just need connecting??
So confused.

We've been waiting since Xmas for Virgin as they were doing a good package with tv and broadband but the other week said it will be be at least another four weeks as a cable has gone wrong so we've just had sky out today and bt are coming end of the month to do broadband xx

Yeah the Virgin packages are so much cheaper than Sky.
Let's hope Virgin sort out there cables quick cos I would rather not get tied into a new contract with Sky

We've just got multiroom with sky with all channels for £29 a month and broadband with bt plus line rental is £24.50 a month so works out the same as the Virgin package was going to be. Xx

So Hayley out of interest. How did they run the cables from your dish to the tv's.
Are there pre installed cables for Sky like there is for Virgin in your HH. Or did sky have to run a cable on the outside of your walls and then drill into your walls ?

Drill into the walls like they normally do on the outside walls of the house, there's no mess and no cables running all over the house, you tell them where your having your tvs and then they drill there. There is a new wireless box that's just come out in the last two weeks with sky but would probably cost a lot but we were talking about it and said it's about time sky came out with a smaller box instead of having the big ones and the bloke who does sky lives on Waverley he bought a house on here in October, he said they have just brought something out. Worth having a look into. We were always used to sky at our old house but used to cost us a fortune and that was for just one room, prices seem to have come down a lot with sky even from Xmas as we asked them at Xmas and it was going to be £60 something just for TV but got them down the £29 for multiroom xx

Also BT should be full fibre to the home (FTTP) so should get close to advertised speeds, SKY Q is overly priced IMO.

When we moved in there was pre-wired cable inside the home but the Virgin cable had to be pulled through from their nearest cabinet. The ducts were already in place under the ground which come up to a brown box just outside the front door. It took a couple weeks or so for Virgin to organise having their cable pulled through and then connected to the house via the brown box.

Thanks reilwell I think I had a bit of a duff guy from BT on the phone! We have a guy coming next Thursday to fit a phone line and then they can see better what sort of speeds are on offer or something like that.

Hopefully it won't take long to sort the broadband out after the line is fitted.

So Hayley out of interest. How did they run the cables from your dish to the tv's. Are there pre installed cables for Sky like there is for Virgin in your HH. Or did sky have to run a cable on the outside of your walls and then drill into your walls ? You can have your cables pre installed by Harron at first fix stage. It is however expensive. I asked them to pre wire my desired rooms @ £80 a room with the intention sorting my own dish however they accidentally installed the whole system . The new product Hayley is referring to is SKY Q however it's currently only available for exsisting customers at the moment. working for SKY I have access to offers. I currently have ones for the complete bundle for £30, each additional room is £5. It was nice to meet you today Haley, if you have any issues let me know. if anyone needs any advice on dish/ cable/ TV locations before an install give me a shout on a side note the engineers that generally work this area are in my team, if you ever have any feedback good a bad its always Appreciated.
