Yeah that is bad bish, gardens should be looked into properly and propriate measures in place, they've already admitted to me that theyve got a problem with all the gardens so why hasn't something been done, why is it taking us to kick off to get drainage in and not very good drainage at that!!! If theyd have laid turf straight on top of that as planned then we would have been none the wiser till the following year xx

Hi Hayley, So sorry to hear about your problems. Like you, we also moved just before Christmas only to be greeted by similar concerns. However, the drainage you mentioned is now worrying me - if Harron have rushed / cut corners in things that are visible, I wonder what may lurk in the future as a result of things that are NOT visible. I wonder what action / resolution can be taken to investigate and fix this soon?

Richard is coming back out Tuesday, got no choice as I was going to book us into a hotel and he can foot the bill until it's sorted!!! He quickly replied....we will sort things on Tuesday and they will get sorted!! I don't expect to buy a brand new house and have these problems as well as cutting corners right under our noses when we've already found a problem. I cant tell ya how stressed and upset I am, I wanted to move in a d hang photos on walls etc, instead I've got plasterer and renderer coming next week to near enough plaster the whole house and redo all the render. I might as well have bought an older house and have people in doing it up. Would have had the same stress but wouldn't have cost anywhere near as much. Just can't believe they think it's acceptable xx

I can't understand why they think someone wouldn't be upset walking into a house that is half done!!!! It says luxury homes on harrons board, it's anything but luxury it's a nightmare. Me and my husband were proper excited to get this house, waiting for the moving in date and kept driving through to see how far they'd got on like everyone else does. Didn't expect for one minute to turn up to move in and the builders still be putting things together saying they are guna be here all day and then walking round the house with everything either not done or bodged to hell and then keep finding more and more stuff and some that they've tried to hide well. How can they not see that someone wouldnt be ok with this?
My husband works away so I'm stressing over it all on my own and the more I think about it the more it's upsetting me. When we moved in them first few days I just wanted to leave and it was Xmas. It needs sorting and I really hope they get it sorted next week cos otherwise Im guna hit the roof xx

I would have missed all kinds of stuff underneath. So glad I've done it myself. It now looks a lot better and mostly drains OK.

One card you could play if you felt like doing it would be to print some of those photographs out, pop up to the Harron's sales office on a busy Saturday or Sunday, hand a few copies out. See how quickly the faults will be fixed then!

I just can't believe it I really can't. If it wasn't for the fact that I love this style house I would have told them to shove it. I like this area and I like where the house is but all inside, the garage and the garden is just a massive let down. We looked round another Grassington before getting this as it was perfect, not one thing wrong with it, they'd took their time to do it up and there wasn't even one chip. Turn up to move in this and I just wanted to cry it was a massive let down and it shouldn't be like that. It should be one of the best times of your life!!! We'd just got married the week before moving so was still on a high from that......but then as soon as we set foot in this house it just went away. Pulled up and there was people outside cutting bath panels!!! Others working on flooring. Disgusting really. And then to top things off we spent half the day snagging for her then to say money hasn't been transferred yet so you can't move in yet!!! We were like wtf!!! She said but you can put your stuff in garage!!! Oh yeah imagine if we had have!!! X

I really feel for you Hayley, it's a absolute disgrace the way you've been treated. I'd be contacting my solicitor to see if they could do any thing to help. Surely Harron have broken the contract by not having your house ready. I really hope things get sorted out quickly for you.

See how quickly the faults will be fixed then! Hello all. I was with my family in the sales office yesterday and we had got caught up in the excitement of seeing a show home and making plans to buy a home as you do. Luckily my wife did some googling and came across this post. Your photos have had the effect needed. We will not be touching Harron homes with a barge pole. Sorry you have had a nightmare, but thankyou for extensively documenting it as you saved this one family from making a mistake. I'm sure the sales office would call it an isolated incident or other such corporate waffle but if their team are capable of it on yours, then they have the mentality to do it again. I'm hoping the other builders ar Waverly are better as I did like my first look around the place in general. Suppose I'll browse the other forums now I'm a member. Hope the nightmare gets sorted for you.

I can't say what anyone else's houses are like as like I said I looked round the other Grassington before reserving ours and it was perfect but could be cosmetically perfect. Never in a million years would I think they'd have done what they did with the drains never mind anything else they've bodged. The garage flooding was a nightmare as we'd just shoved everything in there till we sorted it out so everythings ruined. We'd looked round loads of houses before eventually settling on harron homes and really wish we'd have kept looking it spoilt our Xmas.
Me dad has even had to bring a tile cutter over as they said they can't get hold of a tile cutter as there's a tile missing in the kitchen!!! Me dad's had to bring a tile cutter to a building site as theres no tile cutters!!! Can you actually believe that? And still they haven't done it!!! X

We haven't been in touch with them we thought we'd deal with these first and see what they have to say Tuesday especially about the drain!!! There's no escaping that one!!!!
We were excited, we reserved ours in September, at that point they have just dug out for foundations, sales wouldnt let us change anything at this point!!!! Still we drove through all the time to see how it was going, come December and it didn't look anywhere near finished, it should have all been done for the 11th December and we then needed to do snagging etc and the move in date was the 18th, we told them time and time again that it's not going to be ready and we don't mind moving in January February so long as you tell us as my husband works offshore so he kept turning trips down as they said the moving in date was definitely the 18th!!! It then changed to the 23rd for moving in date and snagging all in one day!!! We thought your joking!!! We still didn't receive confirmation till two days before the 23rd that we were moving and it was late on on the 21st that we found out. We came the night before moved in to look through the windows and honestly I have no idea why they didn't have people working nights on these houses....there was just piles of muck in each room downstairs, muck all over everything. We were gobsmacked. We was due to move in the day after and it was just a mess. Day came and we pulled up and people were still working on the house!!! We waited for sales to turn up for an hour, they said they'd be there at half ten and no one turned up. Eventually she did and it took till 2pm to do the snagging, we got shown no home demo, we had to get Paul off here to come and show us how the heating and water worked. We were really upset. Site manager and sales just acted like they couldnt care less. We didn't want to move in, she then said we can't move in yet as money hasn't transferred but can put stuff in the garage!!! That garage that flooded!!!! They wanted our old keys handing in by the end of the day bare in mind it was 2pm and if we wanted to keep the old keys another day we had to get a licence to occupy from the solicitor, rang the solicitor for them to say we had to go through and sign something!!! By this point we'd just had enough, house was half done and we were told we couldnt move in yet!!!
I think they need to stop messing people about for the sake of getting their money and think quality instead of quantity as now they've got a very unhappy family on their hands and I won't back down with this. So what if they were behind on targets, they would rather give us a house like this in the state it was than wait one more month and get it done right all for money!!! And the snags they are correcting they have bodged each and every one up for just trying to do what's the easiest and cheapest solution!!!
I hope they are ready for Tuesday because I am really unhappy xx

Hope it got sorted for u on Tuesday. If I would u I would have contacted NHBC straight away because they got strict guidelines and you can drag them to court for doing wrong survey. I have spoken to citizens advice people and they said same. I can imagine it must be so difficult for u . All the best. Let us know what happens on Tuesday xx
