Putting it out there that Harron Homes are basically cowboys in disguise!!! What we have moved into is shocking and the main bloke that runs Harron Homes daren't even come back out to us. These things aren't just snags, this carries on I'll be taking it further as now it's not even laughable. Received a house that you get 'dont get done get dom' out to. They've been caught out bodging jobs up on top of jobs already bodged up and now I am beyond fuming. Make sure anyone buying a harron home house you look into absolutely everything even things you can't see as they hide stuff!!!!

Where to start!!! Ours and next doors house were last houses to be 'finished' before Xmas. Day we turned up to move in it still had builders in putting house together! We did all snagging took nearly all day from the things we could see which was nearly everything, few snags:
- There'd been a leak in kitchen which had caused all the plynths to bend and some plynths lights werent working. - Tile missing - Dints in cooker - Chips in side of fridge unit - Plaster throughout the house has been rushed and wavey trowel marks all over and dints all over - Paint been slipped on and rushed and patches all over where there's no paints - Carpet just shoved down and draped over stairs still with stuff under it as they haven't bothered sweeping before putting it down so keep standing on stuff underneath - All grippers showing - Carpet too short in areas - Dints in radiator - Paint all over door and windows - No windows sealed - Cleaner had left a Stanley knife and glass scraper in daughters shower! - Bathrooms not sorted
List goes on nothing had been finished and just been slopped down.
Now we come to outside.....the garden is just pure sludge with a pond and no way is that water going anywhere, we said we need drainage put in with three pipes running down..... They turned up and put only one pipe in across the house! No way is that guna work and it hasn't! While they were doing that found that they'd only put a fake drain in, so out drainpipe from the roof was just going into the ground that they'd buried!! When we pulled em up on it they said they'd sort it!!! I'm so glad my dad knows exactly what he's talking about as the day after my dad dug it up to see what they'd done.....they'd only bodged it again to cut corners!!!
Garage completely flooded everything was wet through due to the floor slanting to the back. Massive holes at the front where the garage doors are like they've either made the garage too big or doors too small.... Came yesterday and sealed it with brown putty looks a complete mess.
The things they have done could go on and on. If they can hide this god knows what else they can hide. I'm fed up of emailing and no one getting back to me, they are ignoring our calls and emails and it just seems a proper bodge.
Just make sure you check everything as even under our noses they cut corners.
The rendering is a right mess it all needs redoing it's right out, you can put a spirit level on it and it's straight at the top then theres an inch or two gap where it bows in. There was wood sticking out of the garage roof, there's a copper pipe stuck out of the house just doing nothing!!

Wow the stuff they'll do to get your cash for year end!
Sorry to hear about all that stuff, I used to go into the sales office at peak times and complain to the sales woman in front of customers and surprisingly all my snags got sorted pretty quickly!
Will let my friends know about your troubles

I think ours and next door seem the odd ones with this much not been done.
I went into the sales office the other day and we started talking to this bloke who had just reserved one, she quickly pulled him into the other room.
I've sent emails and phoned for days now and no reply. Just sent one saying if no one comes out now I'm booking us into a hotel and you can foot the bill, got back straight away!!!! Marvelous!!!
It's wrong how it should be this bad, I've seen less on homes from hell!!!

That is pretty piss poor. Document everything and contact NHBC surely they can send some out to inspect it and fight your case for you. pretty sure Haron would stand up and listen then. This may be helpful to you www.nhbc.co.uk/NHBCPublications/LiteratureLibrary/ClaimsandGuidanceNotes/filedownload,55433,en.pdf Edit: for some reason the forum hyperlinking doesn't like the , but if you copy and paste the how link including the ,55433,en.pdf into your browser the link works

There's loads of stuff, I've taken photos of everything and documented everything. It's not on, we should have moved into a brand new house instead we moved into a half built house, had builders here everyday since after Xmas and hardly anythings been done!! The garage is a big problem, they put self levelling compound on a brand new garage to stop the flooding!!! It should have been right in the first place something shouldn't flood.
I have no faith at all in them and as me dad has already said to them, everything they do from now on he's checking it all first, anything that needs going under ground he's checking before they bury it but no way is one pipe guna get rid of all the water when it rains even the lads that put it down said this won't work.....but then again they cut corners and went and bodged drain up again after we'd already caught that they'd cut corners with that x

That is unbelievably poor. Just wow... I'm actually stunned. Others on here have complained about how poor Harron can be and it really is just rushing to get a job done to hit their targets.
We got our property in May - after financial year targets had already been missed so it didnt really matter if it was another week or two to them and I can categorically say we didn't have a single snag that is/was as serious as any of yours. We still had snags and honestly we STILL do - but they have been minor at best in comparison.
Things like the state of your garage and drains are big jobs and I can't believe that they are legally allowed to deliver a house like that.

Well we couldn't. Inside the garage to fill the gaps around the door they've filled it with expanding foam!!! Still got massive gaps in and like me dad said if light is showing from the inside then rain can get in. It's just proper poor. Can tell all in the house where they have rushed everything. The banister is a riget mess there's chips dints and paint slopped all over it. The light switches were half in the wall and half stuck out. The canopy is a right mess.
Let's hope they get plastering and rendering right next week, it all needs all redoing which means covering everything in the house.
Im really stressed with it all, got two kids and two dogs to see to on me own as well as people been here all the time and they arent doing very much.
Can't believe we did a part exchange with harron and our old house had to be in perfect condition for these and then we move into a half built house.
Note to anyone moving in before xmas don't do it, make them wait until the house is completely finished and do the snagging a week before as it should be not all on the same day as well as the house still getting built x
