I assume so... but interestingly I just found out that my 10 year home warranty is with LABC not NHBC. Just got my paperwork on Saturday when I moved in May!
Regardless, I'm sure they said NHBC did the survey/paperwork to sign the house off so I would call them first. Others may know more about this NHBC/LABC stuff...

With the nhbc do I just phone them and explain what'd happening? X Phone and get it all set up. I got them involved after months of arguing with Harron. Every time it rained we got water in the living room, this went on for 2 and half years. The NHBC are not that good either, they told us they won't get involved if the builder is still trying to fix the problems hence why it went on for so long because Harron would come and bodge it time after time. In the end the NHBC recommend a different builder to Harron who came and completed the works on behalf of Harron.

Our best bet is then doing what we are doing and getting onto the builder. That fails I've got other plans in mind cos they aren't getting away with this xx

As other have said as well, perhaps get on to your solicitor and see where you stand legally. If you used Harron's own solicitor though I'd probably use someone different, because if Harron are sending them a lot of work I can imagine the solicitor in question might be a little biased in fear of affecting their relationship with Harron.

Has anyone else on your street, neighbours, who moved in at the same time as you had similar problems?

Sorry to hear about your new home we was very unimpressed with the standard of our house the snagging list just gets bigger and bigger. It has been 7months and we still haven't got all the snagging completed waited in all day today for the plumper and he didn't arrive. My wife wrote a letter to the main office saying if all the snagging wasnt completed within a month then we would be taking Harron homes to small claims court-most of it is now completed.
But the biggest problem was the carpets absolulty shit we have had the company boss out to our house and he agreed to exchange the hole house again like for like we asked for an upgrade but was told it would be an extra £700 getting done 1/2/16

Our carpets are shocking and theyve already been out to them once and ordered loads, due back out next week. Ours were short upstairs and theyd filled the gaps where they were short with some type of glue. The carpet on the stairs is still draped over and still fraying and it's baggy all over, still loads of stuff under it, could be bits of bricks or wood or anything and grippers are still showing all round the rooms so they didn't do a very good job when they came out so see what they do next week but I've lost all hope cos the things they have been out to they have really bodged up. More worried about the drain situation and want to see what theyve got to say about that tomorrow as they aren't getting away with that. These gardens are already water logged as it is cos they can't be bothered to do anything about them so putting fake drains in isn't sitting well with me and a flooded garage. Xx

Hi Hayley
I'm really sorry to see the shocking issues you have had with your build.
We moved in just over a year ago, although we didn't have quite as many serious issues the ones we did have were similarly ridiculous and often made worse by harrons silly attempts to bodge them and cover them over.
All year I keep hearing these stories over and over again when people move into their Harron homes and yet Harron seem to keep getting away with it. Of course any new build will have snagging issues but the seriousness of these issues and the lack of effort/expertise shown by Harron to correct them would be laffable if it wasn't so heartbreaking.
I'm not sure exactly what to suggest but I think it's about time we all put our stories together and take it to a higher power because I think it's disgraceful.
Perhaps a job for the new residents association to take on? I hear that a neighbouring town managed to get Harron shut down until it was able to improve its standards.

We've had them out today the main bloke and they didn't know what to say. I'm so glad me dad is here and knows what he's talking about as they just kept looking at each other. They said they can't argue with any of it and will get straight onto it. But they promised this two weeks ago but since have made problems for themselves by covering things up. If it wasnt for me dad keeping check on them they would have got away with major stuff!!!
They said it will get done straight away, the plasterers coming tomorrow, the render is getting all redone on the garage and they are guna see about the house. The garage floor is all getting dug out. The garden they are waiting till it dries a bit as it's pure sludge even after putting their drainage in that we said wouldn't work!!! So they are putting the pipes in as we said when they can get in the garden!!!! Pathway getting cemented down as it was lose to begin with and then they made it worse!!! Windows are getting sorted tomorrow as they've just put expandable foam inbetween as they haven't measures them right Canopy is getting sorted as it's not level. List goes on but at least he knows if it doesnt get sorted he will be put again next week xx

Glad to hear that they are talking about putting it right but don't forget about all the time and stress caused to you guys, I used every single holiday day I had last year running around waiting on snags to be looked at or corrected. If I were you I would be pushing for major compensation wether they put it right or not! If I could give you any advice it would be to keep an exact log every week of what has been said and what has been done, it was only when I presented my log to Harron and threatened to use it to take legal action against them that they actually took me seriously.

I've kept a log of everything, there's days we've stayed in and no one's turned up and we are only two week in since that Richard last came. I wont let this carry on and carry on. If nothing gets done this week then I will have that Richard back out next week and if nothing then gets done I will get builders in myself and bill them for it. I won't let this carry on for months on end. It's already stressful having two kids and two dogs and dealing with everything on me own that I'm really glad my dad is taking some of stress off and fighting my corner cos without him they would be getting away with murder. Xx

Do you think if we all got together and approached them, something could be done about it? United front and all that. Really sorry to hear about your continuing issues. Ours are very similar and we've been told there is a very Plasterer coming out tomorrow too! Am getting really concerned about the drainage issue as our garden seems water logged. Wouldn't know where to begin to see if there is a real drain / fake drain. I want to check under the canopy now to make sure that's been correctly done, again, wouldn't know howbl to do this. We have issues too with that carpets but they haven't got back to us on that one. Good luck with the snags.
