Hi everyone. We've bought plot 264 so we're your next door neighbours terri1977! Very exciting. We haven't got a moving in date yet but I assume it will be a few weeks after yours. I'm Jo, my other half is Jason. I've got a girl who's 5 and a boy who's 3 (better sort school and nursery out soon!) Hi we are plot 265 so we are your next door neighbours. Just been told today that we may be looking at end of April, apparently site want to get building signed off on 15th. It could change though. We have 3 children, Charlotte 11, Oliver 6 and Isobel 4. They all go to schools in brinsworth. I work at brinsworth academy. Can't wait to move in and meet people. Exciting times, and with so much negativity on here, we need to try to be positive!

On the point of negative comments about Harron Homes on the forum, we're really going to town on ensuring we check everything we possibly can (other than building it ourselves lol). We've got our professional snagger booked with Brick kickers (our CML is due on the 8th April, I've attached some documentation on the CML if you were wondering what it is CMLcertificate.pdf (74.91 KB)). I've also built my own snagging list which anyone is free to use (its not an exhaustive list and its based on the Kenilworth, but its a good point of reference)Kenilworth Snagging.xlsx (69.69 KB), we plan to snag again prior to having our furniture delivered.
Hopefully we'll have a smooth move in and few snags which need addressing, well here's hoping anyway.
Does anyone have any pets? We have 4 cats, which I'm sure will be helping the builders once we've moved......

Hi terri, regarding your cats have you been given any advice on how to help them with the house move.? there was a few posts a while back where people that had recently moved in were posting that there cats had now gone missing and sadly not returned. We moved in nearly 3 years ago and was advised by the vet to keep them both in for 3 months.! This was a total nightmare as one of cats likes to spend all her time outside. She did manage to escape a few times but was frightened by the diggers and road sweeper enough to make her cautious. Didn't bother the other one, think she was happy that I wasn't trying to force her outside for a change. I know this won't work for everyone and all cats are different but just trying to help.
All the best with your move.

We were told 2 weeks to keep the cat in. And we took him out in the garden on a lead to get used to it. He did escape the lead one day but was so freaked out by the snow (we moved in a year ago Christmas when there was loads of snow) freaked him out. Cats protection have a good flyer on moving with a cat.

Only 3 of the 4 cats go outside without me, the other will not leave my side (she's a very cute tiny black and white cat, she's so soft) lol . Our vet said to keep them inside for 4 weeks, which is the RSPCA recommendation, it used to be 2 weeks. My cat Sooty (all black, shy with stangers) and my husbands cat Smudge (all white, with a very cheeky attitude) are clever cats and I think they will stay clear of the big machinery, as for the other girl Pinot, she's a tabby and tends to follow the boys around, so I feel they should be ok.
They are all chipped and Sooty has moved with me 5 times now and never been missing.
I'm sure you'll see them knocking around, with the exception of Jess the Black and White cat

I'll also be stocking up on catnip, cat grass and their favourite treats to try and keep them happy

Let me know if you need any help or advice regarding cat flaps. I fitted ours and it only cost £12 from Amazon.

Not sure whether to go through the wall or the utility door. Not sure my husband is as handy as you, I don't think he'd have a clue how to fit one lol

Not sure my husband is as handy as you, I don't think he'd have a clue how to fit one lol It's definitely easier to go through the utility door. All I did was drill some pilot holes first to make sure there wasn't a metal skin to the door (turns out it's all foam insulation with plastic edges) and then use the template that came with the cat flap to jigsaw a hole. Happy to help/advise as and when you need it. edit: you can actually see where I drilled a small hole and then realised afterwards it was too low, oops! Easily sorted though with a touch of white silicone.
