Everyone keeps talking about going to the NHBC but we are in a Harron home and our warranty is not with the NHBC. Check with your solicitor who is actually providing the new build warranty for your home.

Thanks terri It's something that I will look into doing! And thank you for that template! Very exciting our babies will be close in age! I think I'm just behind you so I'm guessing we will see each other's lights on during the night feeds!!! X

I didn't say they don't use NHBC, just that they don't exclusively use them and until you get the post sale paperwork pack from the solicitors you don't know unless you ask. It took 6 months of chasing the solicitor to get the paperwork and certificates for ours and it was a total surprise to find the NHBC weren't the warranty provider. I'd have hated to have been wasting our time with the NHBC in the meantime if we'd had to go down that route to get issues resolved.

On a personal note, are you under a Rotherham hospital and midwife or Sheffield? I'm thinking of moving over to Rotherham care rather than having to travel to Jessops. I can say I wasn't overly impressed with the care I received from Jessops for the birth of my first daughter.

I am under Sheffield and to be honest I plan on staying with them! I had a complicated birth with my son, so would prefer to be at Jessops as they are a bigger hospital and more equip to deal with emergencies and I am under their consultants! However I have heard good things from people having their babies at Rotherham!

It's really scary reading all these posts!!! You just don't expect any of these things happening when your spending all this money on a brand new house! Little snags yes but not the big problems that they are finding! I'm just trying to stay positive and hopeful cause really that's all you can do! X I would really recommend you get a professional snagger, we've organised Martyn from Brick Kickers. I've also drawn up my own snagging list, everyone is welcome to use it, I drew it up using advise from various websites. Its based on a Kenilworth, but easily modified for any build, it isn't exhaustive as I'm sure there are other items which you can check
Don't forget if you're not happy with the response from Harron Homes you can take it to NHBC www.nhbc.co.uk/ and the Consumer code for Home Buyers which Harron are part of consumercodeforhomebuilders.com/ , these organisations are there if you feel you are not being treat fairly by the home builder
That's amazing, thank you for the spreadsheet, we will definitely be using that!

Hi. We had our little one on Rotherham and they were fantastic. I was under consultant care and had lots of appointments. Was in hospital for 5 days as was induced and had complications. But every member of staff was brilliant. Had to go back in during the day twice and both times the staff remember me and are asking how I am doing. Could not recommend it enough. I have several friends who recently gave birth at Jessops and they all seem to have horror stories. Pm me if you want more details.

Hi everyone. We've bought plot 234 so we're your next door neighbours terri1977! Very exciting. We haven't got a moving in date yet but I assume it will be a few weeks after yours. I'm Jo, my other half is Jason. I've got a girl who's 5 and a boy who's 3 (better sort school and nursery out soon!) Hi Jo
I'm very excited, we've got it all sorted (comes with the territory, I'm a Programme Manager) Sophie will be going to Kidz@Work which is across the parkway, its within walking distance and really looking forward it. It's a lovely place, well organised.
We need to look at schools for Sophie as she'll be 3 in July and will start September 2017, Currently looking at Catcliffe Primary and Treeton, would be good to have a chat and understand your thoughts on schools
I think Catcliffe might be the most handy, but I haven't visited any yet. We've just been given 22nd April for completion too - for 264 (not 234 as I mistyped last week - whoops!). It's so nice to get to talk to neighbours before moving in. I'm a bit shy to start with so it's definitely good for me!!

Hi everyone, looks like we have a nice little neighbourhood. We have bought plot 265 and as yet haven't got a move in date but hopefully not too far away now. We have 3 children, a girl at 11, a boy at 6 and a girl at 4. We were going to buy 262 but have changed to 265 for various reasons. Looking forward to meeting everyone in the near future. Myself and hubby are both school teachers but my mum is moving with us so will be in during the day.
