Exactly. I did mention to rich earlier about meeting with harworth and he said they'd be at the fete? I think we should all have our questions ready. However we may need to speak sooner rather than later if these plans are going to be submitted.
It's the sheer lack of attention that's gone into barratts new plans. With the parking Etc
Their new renascence area looks beautiful and it's a shame to spoil it with 4 storey monsters of a building.
Can't let it defeat the community

Yeah I think bricks would be better !! On a serious note tho, as well as contesting the application what else can a community do to stop this !!

As much as I agree with Rich, they probably wont do jack. I think its really important we do kick up as much fuss and object as much as we can as a community.

Where was the community when Harron planned to build the 3 storey houses behind all of Bradfield Way? Only a handfull of us objected despite the numerous protests on here. All you can do is canvas the residents it effects and object on the council website.

But I would have objected considering I read through the planning docs and they basically just ignored comments.

I objected to those very plans even tho they so not effect me just so they had more numbers. But not many others did. I'd happily say anything to the planning department to try stop waverley turning into a really built up area. It's pretty shit they ignored all the comments. But then there were only about 3. I guess people seem bothered but not enough to make a difference. However I think the bundling of 4 stories affects everyone too. There's loads of people on this forum. Infact it everyone who went to the time prevention evening put in a complaint I think that would help as a start. There were a good few numbers there

On counting there were 8 individual objections, not counting the 2 you put in Spencer Also, on reading the officer report I don't think they take into account residents opinions it doesn't directly effect

I think I missed that one. Did it include a guest appearance by Peter Capaldi? (Sorry, just trying to inject some lightheartedness into a bad situation :-)

This is terrible, were absolutely guttered! This to me is like Rotherham's version of Parkhill flats. To give perspective they'll be at least 50% higher than the lamp post's on the proposed location, I think the sheer height of these will effect quite a lot of homes Like others I'm also extremely worried this is going to turn into a 'concrete jungle'. Where is this green space going to be? With the HS2 running through and possible plans to build by the lake its not leaving much room. We were so lucking forward to moving onto here but now we're saddened to be considering options of how to pull out. I understand the need for flats as otherwise they'd struggle to get the proposed 3500+ homes. I guess I was naive and hoped they'd be more strategically placed like near commercial areas and never imagined they'd be so high with next to no parking. I very much doubt we'd be able to stop these going ahead as they will have to go somewhere on the estate. I think we need to be constructive like push for 3 - 3.5 story set back from the road + more parking and Beg for plans of green/ community space. It getting frustrating for existing residents and scary for prospective buyers. I think the press is a good idea

It was very interesting the time prevention. It it was a 3 storey block of flats I think that wouldn't be as much of a problem. There's just going to be 2 giant L BLOCKS of flats at each end of their development !
I'm sure everyone hates the plans for my house (kinnersley) when they were first planned.
I've said before that everytimeni dislike soemething they prove me wrong and usually it ends up looking nice. I just how the same happens with barrat :/

Press could name and shame haha !
I wouldn't let it put you off tho ! I'm so happy with my house and so far am so proud to say I love in waverley! It always has positive comments about it! What I did like about the plans is that it showed the "areas" of waverley! It looks like the waterside area is going ahead. And there was a few gaps in there for green space.
But yeah I'm sure harworth would hate it if no one wanted to buy on here! They should be keeping us sweet to spread the word !
