just had a quick look through the application. it says the junction of Stephenson Way and Highfield Spring will be dealt with under a separate application. It also says they can't have driveways directly onto the top of Highfield Lane because of the planned link road!! Looks as badly laid out as Waverley Walk but at least it's only a short walk to the shop. Pffft.

Revised plans for phase 1I are now available on the planning portal, the layout has been amended following public consultation and also comments from the council.

Good find. On balance I think the revised plans are a good improvement on the original application. There’s still a few funnies in there, but nothing I’d be bothered to object about. There are now more properties backing on to the greenway towards the north of site 1i, but that’s compensated for with increased width and planting which better mirrors the original Barratt side of the greenway. Instead of fences backing right up to the path which would have looked awful, now there’s a good width, planted buffer, which is probably a reasonable compromise. They’ve also removed the ‘quarter house’ flats from the middle of the public green space which looked completely out of place, and the green space is now bigger and more usable as a result. They’ve also shifted the block of apartments from the roundabout of Highfield Lane / Highfield Spring to near Stephenson Way – probably not what you’d want if you live up that end (which is in addition to the other block of flats proposed on the other side of Stephenson Way), but perhaps more suitable as its closer to the future ‘commercial centre’. Connectivity is also improved through the site, so overall I’d say the updated plans are much better.

Have to agree, all in all the new layout is OK. its about as good as you are going to get on a high density development like this anyway.
We always knew that it was going to get built on before we agreed to by the house and this is more inline with what we told to expect so yeah,, can't really complain to much :-)
