Just had the plans for the new Harron development through the post this morning (because our house overlooks the land).
There are two, one for the land to the left as you turn onto Highfield Lane at the roundabout and another for the land next to the Winter Green.
At first view it looks OK, I have no complaints. Not too saturated and more importantly the flats they are proposing aren't overlooking anyone. (the plans even suggest that the apartments are only 1 storey)
If anyone is interested I'll post some photos.

Just a bit of additional info:
The plans do say 'provisional', so I guess will be subject to change.
It states that once submitted, the application is due to take around 2-3 months to approve.

Ah, I was wondering when these plans were going to be made public. I hope to find my copy on the doormat when I get home later.
Like you, my pad overlooks that land and until now, I was let wondering what we would end up getting on there. From the plans provided, it doesn't appear to be too bad. In fact, if they remain the same, I think I should be quite happy.
Thanks for sharing.

Just received them too.. although it looks like our house is looking on to 5 affordable homes from what I can make out anyway, I could be wrong.
We are next to 6 affordable homes already and wish I could say we've had no problems with some of those. So without being overly judgmental, I'm pretty disappointed and it feels quite unfair!
On a whole though, the plans don't look too bad. Glad the apartments are next to the roundabout and away from existing properties.

That's a high concentration of affordable housing in such a small area.

I think everyone has them through today xx Ah OK. I just assumed that because we were overlooking the land we might have been the only one's receiving them.

They should really make the pub car park bigger, and I wouldn't envy the houses next to it or adjacent that will share the road into the pub. It's carnage there on a Sunday as it is.

Looks like there's no room for the pub to expand if needed. Surely demand on a Sunday will increase with all the extra houses. Still can't believe Harron have been allowed to continue building here! I've heard Taylor Wimpy won't be building anymore, don't know how true that is.

Linds, are you overlooking the public footpath onto the proposed development. I can see 5 homes marked as BA which I'm guessing are Bamburgh type with AFF on the key? There is also a red cross that is supposed to denote affordable but i cant see any of those. on there. Luke

I see some of the houses are side on to the current path that runs down the barratts homes. Does that mean there will be a large six foot wall or fence running along the line of the path. If so that may affect the current open plan feel of the area?

I saw the red star too but like you said there aren't any marked, so I'm just assuming that the AFF in the key is also standing for affordable homes. I have emailed Duncan from Harworth and he's going to get in touch with Harron for some clarification.
