Obviously it's personal choice and what is best for your family but I really think brinsworth howarth should be getting more praise. My daughter has been there 3 years since pre school and they have done so much for her. It's a brilliant school and really urge people to go and visit. Absolutely it's a personal choice. I would encourage people to take the little ones with them and get a feel for the school as well look at academic results as ofsted doesn't tell you everything you need to know. There seems to be a lot of good vibes about Catcliffe on this thread, I leaned towards Howarth so it's horses for courses. Life would be boring if we all liked the same things. Interesting to read about Aston Fence being full. There are so many primaries in the vicinity but out of catchment that are in a similar position, so unless you live nearby your chances are slim. I think the good news is that this community is comfortable with the two primaries we know we stand a good chance of getting into , a position which many people would envy.

We visited both schools and there were positives and negatives with both. We just felt on balance that Catcliffe suited us better. I'm sure if she had got placed at Howarth it would've been fine.

Hi just wondered if anyone could help with regards to pre-schools that might be linked to either Catcliffe or Brinsworth Howarth - if they have any at all?! My son currently goes to the nursery at The Hallamshire Hospital and will be going to pre-school there but I'm wanting a morning or two / day at one closer to home where he can start to build a friendship group before starting primary. Thanks!

Thanks! My boy is starting reception at Catcliffe next month and my 2 year old daughter is starting at The Meadows. It's part of Catcliffe school and is next to the school nursery but is run seperate to the school. I think it opens at 8 til 4.
