Our little one goes to Catcliffe. We can't speak highly enough about the staff and the school. The Executive Head is some sort of nationally recognised Primary education guru, which works well for the School and he lectures on the subject at various Universities. Obviously we don't know what the other schools are like as our kids don't go to them. A good barometer for comparison is the Ofsted reports. Catcliffe got 'Good' in the last 2 and we've heard that they were within a whisker each of being Outstanding. Achieving Outstanding is a target of the school. They also offer breakfast and after school clubs, which is certainly something that is very important to us. We'd have struggled otherwise. If anyone has any questions about the school feel free to PM me.

Hi.
Staff are excellent and we've found no issues. Our child as come on amazing since starting 2 years ago. The school as a great learning system in and their always looking at ways to make learning more fun. A few months ago they rented space and put on a full art exhibition in Rotherham. They also have a school radio which from next week will have a weekly slot on radio sheffield breakfast show. If you've not already follow them of Facebook or Twitter. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

Just want to make a note about Brinsworth Howarth, the ofsted report or from years ago and they are due a new inspection shortly, you should also look at school statistics as they have improved dramatically since the last ofsted inspection and are now showing at either at or above national average.
My son attends this school and I am also a parent governor and cannot recommend them enough, you should always view both schools and speak to the heads before making decisions.

Catcliffe wins hands down between the 2 in the local area I viewed both and found that if your child has a learning difficulty you won't be very welcome at howarth I was made to feel imtimidated and left crying when I returned home due to it being made out to me that it was my fault my son was struggling with his learning I then phones the education and was told to visit catcliffe who at the time had a different head called Mrs Baxter and she absolutely welcoming telling me everything I wanted to hear from a school I now have 4 children in years 5 3 1 and foundation in this school and everyone of them are benefitting from the learning systems that mr freeston and Mrs signh have put in place at the next ofsted it wouldn't surprise me if it was classed as outstanding

After visits into school I have witnessed excellent SEN interventions.

We've just found out Lucy has been admitted to Catcliffe, which was what we wanted for her. Hope everyone else gets the schools they were hoping for.

I looked round both. Nothing wrong with Howarth imo but put Catcliffe as 1st choice. Happy that my little girl got in!

Hi All, Me and my wife visited Catcliffe Primary School, although they are struggling with the space and the building is too old, but that is nothing compare to how the school is run and managed by the staff.
We met School Head Teacher who seems to be so passionate about the school ethics ans ethos. We were really impressed!!! for me I am definitely going for the Catcliffe Primary School for my son. Plus their after school club and breakfast club setup is also very good. There are loads of activities for the children. They have their own radio station !!!
As mentioned above about the space in the beginning, that would not be an issue from September 2016 as the front Aspire building ( red brick building ) will become the part of the school as that office is moving elsewhere.
Best Regards, Ali

Obviously it's personal choice and what is best for your family but I really think brinsworth howarth should be getting more praise. My daughter has been there 3 years since pre school and they have done so much for her. It's a brilliant school and really urge people to go and visit.

Just forgot to add one thing, according to last three Ofsted reports Catcliffe has consistently Scored Good. We also tried for Aston Fence Infant and Junior because of its repo but they are oversubscribed. I was looking for a primary school who feeds into Aston Comp secondary school. Catcliffe children have both options, to go to either Brinsworth Academy or Aston Comp. You can view Ofsted reports of all the schools in near by area via the link below. www.192.com/schools/
