Sounds great but I've only got a couple of hours Saturday so I'll do Rother Valley at 8 if anyone still fancies that? I'm in... 8am at wintergreen car park?

Hi bish, I'm happy for that, what route you thinking? If people want to do a run to rothervalley on Sunday I'm game for that too :-D [br I'm easy. Straight out to Owler bar and pick out a hill or two. May be down froggat and straight back up grindleford to fox house then either back home from there (that's about 2 1/2 hrs) or may be one more hill. If time for one more hill may be down in to Hathersage and up the Dale or down to bamford and up the snake to cross pool than back. sounds good, I'm always happy for the hills :-) i'm happy to run out to bamford and back over the snake, in fact if time really allows and you want more hills then we could head over Strines and then follow the Tour De France route back into Sheffield :-) i'll route plan and see what the distance would be, suspecting 60miles + so that may be pushing it a bit to far if you need to be back at 11. what time do you want to set off? i've not really got any time constraints, and i'm happy to leave early if you want. davsur, might as well sell the road bike now, lol can't see you riding it again after the tour, lol

Looks good OK to do that. What's the total ascent I can't see it on the stats? Time is the issue as I do need to be back by 11 so we will need to start pretty early and may be take a time check point once we've hit the snake as to whether to go straight up to cross pool or whether to take the left and strines. I might need to hang on your back wheel Chris!

This thread started as a way to help us novice and new cyclists get going and find our way, but now all I keep reading are words like "ascent, lycra, gradient, 6.30am, hills, 60 miles".... im scared now, next it will be chat about shaving legs and vaseline lol
In all seriousness, enjoy your tour de peaks!
