It's not a short walk to the current bus stops and it's only going to get further once the muddy path gets closed. 10 minutes or so is considered a short walk 10 minutes isn't a very long walk, but compared to driving that 10 minutes makes it much less attractive. I can be in the centre of Sheffield in 10 minutes if I drive, or I can still be within sight of my house, standing in the rain with another 25 minutes to go. If there was a bus stop 3 minutes walk away and it got into town in 15 minutes it would be a viable alternative, but the current bus service is far too inconvenient.

That used to be my bug bear with the bus into town as well. our office used to be in the centre of town with no parking provisions so i used to cycle as much as possible but sometimes i had to get the bus in. the A1 was OK when i turned up but the 72 bus wound me up for that very reason so i used to drive and park in stanley lane carpark for £2 for 6 hours and then walk the 10mins i would have wasted at the bus stop to the office. even including fuel plus the £2 parking it was cheaper than a return on the bus. But not everyone can get away with doing a 6 hour day and thats the max limit in the £2 car park

It is more than a mile to the nearest bus stop (72) from our house, and then it doesn't come frequent or efficient enough as I sometimes work evening shifts and my husband likes to use it to go out. What is the point in Harron giving us a year's free bus pass if people don't use it? We are not car people and would like to use/support public transport, but find service(s) so inconvenient. I use the bus every day for work and have had very few problems. I would rather sit and read on the bus then sit in a car on the parkway. So if anyone has a free pass they are not using, I would be grateful if you would like to pass it along to someone who uses it every day? Mine runs out this week

So it's been confirmed that the bus will go down Mitchell Way, turn left onto Stephenson Way, turn right onto Lescar Road, turn right onto High Field Lane and back up to High Field Spring. Bus stops are TBA.

Sorry, not yet, just what we've been told verbally by Harworth Estates. I too have been looking at that site. I guess they will update it with the October changes soon.

With the 72 coming past my street it's time to kick back and enjoy those extra minutes saved not walking to the stop anymore

Bus stops are TBA. I would have thought they need to finish off Lescar Road asap then, as when I drive up there I feel its like border line off roading. Then when you turn right at the bottom on to Highfield Lane it's very tight with the pedestrian crossing and the park cars.

I've heard from the council that there is an application for parking restrictions already in for the bottom of Highfield Lane. Lescar Road has been surveyed at least twice in the last two weeks, hopefully to sort out the mess Harron left behind and plenty of HGV's have got round that corner with no problems this morning alone.

Changes to service now on travel south Yorkshire website
First
Rotherham – Brinsworth – Sheffield
Additional journeys will be introduced to the service and be routed through the Waverley housing estate rather than around it. This will ensure that all roads with housing or businesses will have access to a bus service.
Not sure what the "additional journeys" look like so have emailed travel south Yorkshire to ask for details

The existing and future timetable are both viewable if you click the link. Doesnt seem to be any change in peak hour services

I am the assistant Headteacher at Brinsworth Academy and would like to let you know that we are putting on a bus as of 31.10.16 for students in a morning and at the end of school. We will be organising a community meeting in the next few weeks to confirm details and to gather views from residents. Please contact me at the Academy on 01709828383 if you have any questions. Thanks Debbie Elsdon

Looking at the website and it says the bus will start coming through the estate on Monday....has anyone seen any bus stops?! Wondering where I catch the bus Monday morning! Ha - I came to comment on this same thing. I emailed sypte at the beginning of the week to query where the bus will stop - their reply was that the 72 is a commercial service run by first and that they would forward my query to them. I then emailed back to point out that the bus will stop at a shelter or stop that sypte will be responsible for providing - so I rephrased my query and asked where sypte would be putting the stops. Their reply was to say that the timetable says the bus would be stopping at Morrisons and the AMP - none of which are on the diverted route within Waverley! I then emailed first, - and after two days without a response I've just got an automated response saying they will reply in 14 days. So that leaves me without a clue what to do Monday morning. Did anyone ask a bus driver or happen to know. Do we just flag it down anywhere? Will it even come through the estate??
