Click1985 it seems that you are very bitter over the whole thing and are determined to spoil the buying experience for everyone else.
Seemingly everyone who you have come into contact with is useless and everything about your experience is poor despite the fact that most people seem to have some minor issues but are generally satisfied. There only common denominator in all of this is you so far as I can tell...
Maybe your expectation is too high or you are the type of person to exaggerate issues and complain needlessly.
Also for the person who thinks Paul's Harrison would slum it on Waverley you're some way off the mark. He lives in a multi million pound mansion in Burley in Wharfedale not some 4 bed box on an ex-coal mine in Sheffield

Ah trolls. Nothing better to do, but kind of amusing anyway. Slumming it in a 4 bedroom box? Lol! I think that is referred to as 'doing a Ratner' But I'm pretty sure Paul Harrison has more sense than to publicly criticise his own product, or to publicly agitate a customer that is about to justifiably drag his company's sorry arse through the legal system. I hope so anyway, for his sake. click1985 has been very vocal about the problems she's had with Harron, but so what? Better to rant on here and hopefully share some useful lessons, than to keep it to yourself while others end up in the same boat. If you don't like it, don't read it. This company have let a lot of people down and so it deserves all the harsh words and then some. Prospective future customers ought to know what they could be letting themselves in for - and there's a fairly high probability that it won't be what the sales staff or the company website would have them believe.

click1985 if you wouldn't mind sharing it'll be interesting to hear how you progress with the legal case against Harron

Also for the person who thinks Paul's Harrison would slum it on Waverley you're some way off the mark. He lives in a multi million pound mansion in Burley in Wharfedale not some 4 bed box on an ex-coal mine in Sheffield I didn't want to get involved with the "politics" of this forum but I really felt the need to completely disagree with your statement. Hayley isn't bitter at all and I completely agree with everything she says regarding Harron! Our experience has been completely devastating: Moving in day our living room window wouldn't even close so it was forced shut by Dean and it could happily fit a pound coin through the gap which it left - We moved in without an integrated fridge/freezer which should of been there - we didn't have a bath panel that fit on the main bath - we had a leak downstairs - paint was wet and then to top it off my father in law realised our canopy was completely wrong. Long story short Harron homes built our house 33mm too big and therefore their "ready made" canopy didn't fit our house which they all knew about and hoped that we wouldn't notice that was and quote what I was told well unfortunately for them we noticed so 3 months after moving in our whole canopy was taken off and I was without a roof in my lounge for a few hours with a newborn baby I can tell you it wasn't the best thing I've experienced!!!! After this was replaced they failed to make it water tight until a week later. Our whole house has been re-rendered which meant scaffolding up which has cracked 4 or 5 of our Slabs yet to be replaced. I'll add that all of his work only and I mean ONLY got done because I paid for a private building surveyour I come out and give me a formal report to which Harron have to legally follow or I can take them to the small courts! Major work still needs doing on our house they owe us money and we chase day after day after day and all we get is lies and messed around. I could sit here and write all day with the problems we have we had over 300 snags on the inside and it looked like Stevie wonder did the paint work. About 5 of the workers have told us individually "your house wasn't even finished the night before you moved in" OH and I almost forgot we didn't have a "buildings regulations completion certificate" until 3 months after moving in which is actually illegal! They soon sh*t themselves when I realised! So no Hayley isn't bitter and isn't ruining it for the rest of us. Harron homes are cowboys if I had come across this forum before I moved in my god I would of happily lost the £90 reservation fee. It's the biggest mistake of my life moving here I hate it!

I agree Mr Harrison should be ashamed of his self! The work is poor, the customer service is dreadful. I wish I had never bought a house with them and gone to one of the other builders.. They don't care about there customers at all , I wish I would of seen this forum before buying I would of never gone through with the sale!
I don't believe my expectations are too high I just expect to get what I paid for.
Feel robbed. Disappointed isn't the word.

I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect builder though. Google any major housing builder and you will get threads and forums full of people with different experiences. My opinion may be slightly skewed as we haven't encountered any problems yet with the sale of our house, but I don't think Harron are worse than any others out there. At present, I am glad we bought our house, I feel positive about the area and I'm looking forward to getting to know people and becoming part of the community. I hope my opinion doesn't change.

Hayley,
I'm not doubting that you've have a rough ride, worst thab most and that legal action is the best course of action for you now. A few of us have said this for a while
But I would seriously take a step back and consider everything that you post online. It's a fine line between warning others and slander and sorry to say but haron can afford lawyers a thousand time better than you can. Simple fact of business. To them legal fees of a few million £ is the same as you spending a few thousand £.
If I was you I would put more effort into your legal case, get what you deserve and don't hang yourself to dry on this public forum by bad mouthing haron so publicly. It's hard to restrain yourself when youve been so badly inconvienced but if you are going the legal route give them nothing.
Hopefully you will get it sorted and the results that you deserve having spent £300k on house.

It's terrible to hear of the bad experiences some of you have had. Although our move was up and down, generally Barratts were really good. I wish you all good luck with your legal and otherwise challenges and sincerely hope you get your issues rectified to your full satisfaction and start to enjoy your new homes as you should be. Good luck all.

Barratts do tend to put a lot more time and effort into their builds, never heard of any major issues from barratts. I lived on a barratts estate previously for 4 years... our dorma window leaked heavily not long after moving in, when we moved 4 years later it was still leaking... they came back and failed to fix it numerous times, they were not very proactive. Other neighbours had issues too. They had built a canopy wrong on detached house opposite which kept flooding and they messed up the repair. Google any builder and you will find nightmares.... however that is no excuse for harron... they need to pull their finger out here and improve both first fix and aftercare

Ive been chatting to others from other sites and no site is any better for either their customer service or their manor with the ppl they are so called selling a "dream" home to. They have even missed out windows and completely the house with the back to the front. So says to me that click1985 isnt exagerating for one minute about wots gone wrong to a house.

So its not just us getting no where with snagging then. We just keep getting past back to site from customer services then never getting anything done.
