I looked at the price for them but when you can buy them from Screw Fix for £5 each I think I will buy them and fit myself. its a really easy job and if you do get stuck there's a you tube video with a guy showing you how to change them. Save £££££££ Good idea but I think you'll need to work it out to ensure it's cost (and time) effective. For example we have 16 rooms/areas in our home when I include the entrance hallway and 1st floor hallway. When I think each one of these will have at least 1 light switch (some 2 or more, for example our entrance hallway has 4 light switch panels for different areas but for purpose of this example I'll calculate on 1), and on average 3 or 4 double gang sockets each, you're looking at at least 80-90 sockets. At £5 each that's £400-450 plus at least 10 minutes each of my time (about 13 hours). I'd rather give the job to someone else I also think they didn't charge us anywhere near as much as they should have done. If I count up the sockets/switches we have, i'm sure it should have been much more. The stuff they put in is also a very good quality. And sometimes it's hard to find matching units for everything (eg fuse switch, cooker/hob switches etc). I can say this first hand as I changed to silver in the kitchen at our last place and ended up having a white one for the appliances as I could get one which matched in. Bugged the hell out of me for a couple of years! :-)

Why would you pay to have sockets changed that are then covered by furniture.? Did you also pay for the white paint and then wallpaper over it, lol.

You can get these for £5 each at diy stores, but electricians can get bulk cheaper. The labour and time for Harron to put in switches is paid for in your house price (it takes the same time for them to put in white or silver sockets and they do the white in price) so all the 700 pounds is for is for them to pick out a silver socket from there supply instead of a white one.... they are not replacing anything, it's at first fix.... Hope that makes sense? However, yes it's convenient and matching, just don't think it's underpriced, I think they're making a good margin (the white sockets cost money so they save on those too)

To be fair to Harron ( I know, it hurts! ) they use a decent brand of stainless switch plates - Schneider and not £5 screwfix cheapies. I sourced my own for the downstairs and just replaced the ones that would be visible, why would you want a stainless socket behind the fridge? Cost about £120 and the biggest chunk of that was the cooker and integrated appliance switches.

And TeddyOwner, you can't see white sockets behind the fridge, but again, in my world... I would be thinking about it sat there shouting 'I'm white, you didn't get me!!' And would end up having to change it! Lol...

Just been told it will cost us £1200 for chrome sockets. Think we will be doing it ourselves !
