It's easier to get to the M18 via Woodhouse Mill these days and you can't judge when the traffic on Highfield Spring will be flowing v stood.

I used to do M1 southbound to junc 25 everyday and found it quickest to be drive all the way down to junc 30 through Killamarsh and Spinkhill. Traffic up to junc 31 could be insane some dayw

Just heard back from Heather. Roadworks are due to be completed by the end of Feb. Did she say what year? Just taken a walk down there, still looks miles away from completion.

The M1 smart motorway will be finished before the 1/4 mile works at Waverley! It's an absurd amount of time it's taken to do that stretch, I have April 9th 2015 when it started and the signs said 9 months. It doesn't even look that well designed heading upto the Parkway.

Agreed.... Struggling to see much improvement based on what's visible, especially for all that cost and disruption...

I had to pay 4 quid extra on a taxi fare the other night because the sliproad coming off the Parkway was closed for roadworks and the Taxi driver had to upto Junction 33 and back ?. But the plus point was that the staff of 3 workmen which only ever seem to be working were actually visibly doing some work! How long has taken them to block pave that central reservation btw

Why did they need to block pave anyway? the pavements have been covered in tarmac and it would have been quicker and cheaper to keep it the same.
