Lovely house, design, space, and Waverley is a great place and community to live.
There will be snags, some big, some small that will need fixing, and the problem many of us have is they don't get fixed quickly if at all because customer services is terrible.

Lots of people had lots of problems. We didn't have many major snags in the end (think we were lucky), but we had a nightmare during the sales process. Including Harron ripping us off for £500 on the day we completed!
That said, we absolutely LOVE our house and where we live... We have no regrets whatsoever.

hi after reading all negative comments about harron homes i am just wondering we might have took a wrong decision to buy our house with harron homes. anyone had major issues?? anyone got any positive comments. As others have said they are nicely designed and well laid out houses but let down by the don't give a damn attitude and a lack of the attention to detail and aftercare that is promised in the sales bullsh*t. On the plus side you'll be able to test your anger management techniques on a daily basis as you fight the urge to punch someone in the throat

They said we would get £500 off our fees if we used their recommended mortgage advisor and solicitor. The completion statement came through on completion day and the £500 hadn't been taken off. They said it was tough and that I wasn't getting it. We had to very quickly throw another £500 cash into the pot.

Thanks all I would say we will wait and see if we are lucky or not to have our dream house with Harron. I love comment about testing my anger management skills I am really not good with it? ?? I am just wondering if so many people having issues with aftercare why not any one took any legal actions about it. I am sure it can be dealt under consumer protection right. Did anyone look into it

Hi, just to add, we've had snag issues and some have taken a long time to resolve and led to high degrees of frustration at times, however they have got done. On a positive the pressure tank leaked the other week, we only noticed when the ceiling below showed damp patches. The tank was replaced by day 2, the ceiling was repaired by day 6 when it had dried and by day 10 it was sanded and repainted. I couldn't ask for anymore to be honest. Harron have changed the team a number of times at the Head Office and Angela to be fair seems to be on the ball. With the leak above I went straight D Rose who are the contracted plumbers and then to Harron, just from a timing perspective really. Response from both was spot on. Ultimately we wouldn't buy a house that 'we like' over a house 'we really like' based on the Customer Service. Its a long term investment for us, we plan to be here a good many years, love the house and the space its offered. We've made some good friends through this forum however that's not really affected by the house builder! The estate is far from finished and the plan change which affect some people more than others, so the only advice there is don't take everything for granted. Each to their own but the bigger picture for us was location, developing community, surrounding area and of course house layout. Waverley ticked those boxes and still does, even though it can feel like a roller coaster at times. Find a house, fall in love with it, see yourselves there in years to come with how you intend your lives (family etc) to be, fine tooth comb on the snagging list and go for it. If you're a more cautious person buy on an estate that completed. Waverley has many surprises to come I'm sure......

We didn't have many snags and the ones we did have were mainly cosmetic, all sorted with in 4 months of moving in. We love our house space and design. I hope it all goes well for you.

Hi,
I would have to agree with the comments above. We've had snags over the years and yes it has been difficult at times to get things resolved but we've loved our house and the area. We're actually moving from one Harron home into a new one further back on the estate so we are going through the whole process for a second time (so it can't have been that bad the first time!!) I think, understandably, people are much more likely to post negative comments on a forum like this especially when it is frustrating trying to deal with multiple people to get things done but sometimes as others have said you have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. I certainly don't regret buying a Harron home.
