We have just moved onto Waverley walk and we have to take our two dogs out for a walk everytime they need to go out. We made the mistake of letting one of our dogs on the back this morning but was hundred times worse than what it looked and we nearly lost a dog as it was like quick sand and he disappeared!!! We can't carry on like this with the garden situation especially when my husband goes back to work, not finishing the house I can put up with for a while but dogs need letting out and I can't get two kids ready everytime the dogs need letting out so soon as Harron homes are back working they are getting it from us, it need the full garden digging up, drainage in, hardcore etc and we aren't stopping until they sort it as putting turf on top of that like they are planning to do in spring will create a worser problem and come next winter it will be even worse.
But apart from that I love the house and I love the area. Xx

But apart from that I love the house and I love the area. Xx Glad you're settling in. We love the area. It's been 14 months since we moved in and as we walked around the development looking at all the new houses that have sprung up since we moved in it's been great to see how everything has progressed. We definitely don't regret moving and overall we are pleased with out Harron home despite the (still) outstanding snag list. I didn't pay Harron to put turf down on the back as I knew I could do it myself better/cheaper compared to the prices they were asking for. I'm glad I did because the turf they laid on the front was like a water bed for months. Because we moved in October and they laid the turf in wet and cold season without preparing the earth underneath properly it took a very long time for the grass and soil to knit together and settle. The other problem was it looked and felt like they had just quickly dumped top soil, spread it and laid the turf. The end result as I say was like a water bed. I know I'm pedantic but the other reason why I was glad I didn't have Harron turf the rear garden was because of all the nails and rubble I found mixed up in to the soil. I wouldn't like to think their contractors would have just rolled out turf on top of that. Still to be balanced on my feedback when I was doing the garden it was a lot of work and at one bit I had ran out of hardcore. I asked for some from Harron and offered to pay for it only for them to say no problem and give me what I needed for free. It was a big help at the time and a couple of their lads helped to wheel barrow it in from the front to the back garden. Your homes look lovely @hayleyphotographer I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The one thing I would say to be sure on in your snags is to have Harron fix the rendering. I noticed a few of the new homes on Waverley walk have white rendering on the window ledge brick work and fleshing above bay windows and doors. Shame really that their attention to detail to make the outside and front of the house looking tip top for new home owners spending a lot of money could have been better.

The rendering is on the top of our list for been all redone as we know the person who did it and he told harron that it couldn't be done in the weather conditions that it was but they made him do it and he got them to sign to say that they said to cut corners so that is on the top of our list. We know someone who worked inside on ours as well and had a leak in the kitchen that they told them to cover up but as we already know they couldn't really deny it when inspected closely and some of the kitchen has warped behind the units so they are having to replace half the kitchen....we wouldn't know if we didn't know the people who worked on ours. List goes on but the garden is the main thing we want to get sorted straight away just as we can't let the dogs out, they can get it sorted soon as they are back as I don't know how anyone is expected to manage with dogs and no garden. Next door are in the same position and so are across Road. I'm dissapointed with harron but I love the house and area so there's more for's than against xx Wow that's shocking news, I think I'd be really upset if I was told what you've been told. I'm sure you'll give Harron a piece of your mind or two as soon as they're open again in the new year!

Pretty shocking that, Hayley. And an eye-opener for us as we have two dogs, too.
We managed to get our turf chucked in for free, but we would have paid for it as it would/will be a nightmare with the dogs not being able to go in the garden. We aren't due to complete whilst the end of March, so hopefully the weather has picked up a bit by then... *gulp*
Anyway, congratulations on your move, and hopefully things start going a little more smoothly for you.

Everything else is brilliant we love the house it's just they've rushed to finish it and it's not even finished, all the decor is a right state, they've been right sloppy, there's paint on everything, carpets loose. All the little things you'd expect to be done to a good standard. But gardens definitely need drainage the water is just sat and not going away so they can get fence taken down and get digger back in to dig it all up xx
