They had an open day there last week to officially open the scheme. Lots of hydrogen cars there, probably 75% of the UK fleet. I assume since these things are road legal now they've gotten over the fact that hydrogen is highly explosive. Either way, I didn't fancy standing too close.

As much as I've heard about these things, it's not the cars you should be worried about as they are relatively safe. It's the tankers bringing hydrogen to the station and the station itself!

Petrol and LPG are also very explosive/combustible and so are and Lithium Ion batteries in the wrong circumstances but no one seems to worry about that ;-)

They don't bring Hydrogen in tanker. By the power of the windmill they break water in hydrogen and oxygen. They release the oxygen into the air and store the Hydrogen for fuelling.
