Hi all,
Any suggestions on good jogging routes, reasonably flat? Used to go round rothervalley but want something local. Do the lakes have dry paths?? Anything around 4-10miles

Lots of good routes. You can get all the way around the lake. If you head off the estate at the barrats end where the roundabout is, there's a gate that takes you through the trees. You can get all the way around the Waverley area on crushed brick paths (around 3 or 4 miles all the way around).
You can extend over to the Trenton dyke/woods by crossing over the bridge at the lower end of the lakes as well (over the metal bridge then go right, and over the train line bridge and right again).
There are also some good paths behind the old airport that go around the golf course. You can get to them by the paths on the other side of the parkway (on the way up towards the mercure hotel). Some of those can be a little hilly though :-)

You can go completely off-road from Waverley to Rother Valley, we'll be doing the route on the bikes tomorrow. You can make the route between 12-14 miles if you go around the lakes on the way back and up by Morrisons.

Cheers guys, some good stuff here. I will end up going for a 4miler, get lost and end up doing 10!!!. The lakes look pretty flat as well so ideal for longer runs

Hi if you google 'hands worth road hogs' they are a free local running group who do anything from 3 miles to 12 miles and they do a lot of routes by our estate. Quite handy to join if you want to learn some good running routes in the area, and they're a friendly bunch too :-)
