Hi, didn't attend this evening due to the PCO's attending my property earlier after my break in over 2 and half weeks ago!! Basically saying get cctv (which we are already in the middle of installing) this doesn't stop them breaking in? It's a deterrent! Police on patrol is a better deferent... ! But as was explained earlier to me... They go off shift at 12?? I made crime scene investigation come to my property and do swabs and fingerprints but nothin back as yer? Just terrible really so have no faith in this route.... ! It may be a car breakin to them but cost is over a £1000 out of our own pockets... Glad to know that the community is sticking together on this thou..! Any news on harworth estates ideas? So sorry to hear this nattyg Wouldn't your insurer pay out for the damage and losses, sounds like a double blow

we couldn't make it tonigh, but wondering if any key messages to share? I suppose the key message was that we should all look to protect our home with as many security measures as possible. There are several leaflets which I'll upload in due course which explain products such as Smart Water, Asset Registers, CCTV, Padlocks etc. They recommended the website www.securedbydesign.com/ which gives advice on products endorsed by the police. They re-iterated some obvious messages such as: - Always lock doors and windows. Make it your routine to check them every night. - Don't leave expensive items in places like sheds which are easy to break into. - Don't leave anything that looks like it could contain something valueable in your car. Some of the security measures are free or relatively inexpensive so they would be encouraging people to apply as many as possible. On the subject of a communal CCTV system, Heather from Harworth Estates reported that she is in discussions with a provider about pricing up a system for the junction of Mitchell Way/Stephenson Way. Clearly this is not aimed at catching thieves breaking into homes since most of them are show homes on that stretch of road, but as a means of identifying people or cars entering and exiting Waverley. I will post more info when we have all the findings from Heather.

I'm due to move here next week.... Out of interest, has anyone had a car insurance renewal quote yet? I'm guessing it's another excuse for our premiums to go up again...

I've had a quote to renew my car insurance. I'm 24 and have 2 cars on a multicar policy with admiral. £1000 for both. Which I think is acceptable due to one of the cars qualities

The quote from admiral was miles cheaper. Direct line wanted over 2k just for 1 car.

I feel robbed all over again.
I got a yellow highlighter pen from the crime prevention presentation. Tried using it today and it doesn't work.
Can't trust anyone.

Can you please ask Heather to also consider the entry/exit at the back of Waverley now that this has also opened up at the back of Bradfield Way.

If Harworth need more prices I know the company that do the CCTV coverage at Hillsborough tho I'm sure that might not suit all with the various football allegiances!
