Looks like they've started to up the number of dwellings per hectare and putting in smaller drives helps with the density. We've just taken a walk past the nearly finished houses on the end of Bradfield Way and there is a driveway next to one of the houses that you would struggle to get anything wider than a Fiat 500 down. I can see someone proudly parking next to their new home for the first time and then having to climb out through the boot.

We're buying one of the new harron homes and its a 4 bed with 1 parking space and a garage. As I rarely use my car its not too much of an issue as I can keep it in there, but it is a minor inconvenience! Still baffles me they are building a 4 bed with 1 parking space!

Don't be so sure you can keep your car in the garage unless it's a Smart car, or unless you've measured it. I can't get my Megane in mine without needing to be a contortionist.

Aargh dont tell me that! Might have to sneak in to get the measurements of the garage as its not on the plans I have. Also a little irritated that apparently Harron have created a new garage type attached rather than integral.

I have to say that there is no problem getting my Focus or Golf in the garage of my Kenilworth. Its plenty big enough to get in and open the driver's door enough to get out. My house has only just been finished a week ago though. Wonder if Harron heard some complaints from residents of the earlier homes on the development and changed the dimensions of the garage?

If it's an integral garage then obviously it depends on the size of the house. Ours was at the cheaper end of the 4 bed detached houses so maybe that's what we've compromised. We can get two cars on the drive though so not that fussed. Garage is too full of crap to get a car in anyway

Our integral garage measures 6meters by 3meters
Plenty big enough for a medium sized family car.
But it's not a haron.

I thought Harron were supplying 2 car parking spaces for every new house, including smaller houses. Certainly have done until now it seems. That's a real shame. If all new houses are having 1 space, that'll mean more cars parked along kerbs. There are already a build up of cars being parked along kerbs around the Harron estate and that's with houses who do have sizeable 2 space drives.

Yeah it looks like ours (the new Hebdens) are the only ones so far! Even the 3 beds have 2 parking spaces.

Sorry to hear nowait ... either way welcome to the community. We live just around the corner from you on Ashbourne Way. When we moved in in October all that end of the estate was a field of mud. Amazing to see how quickly it all comes along.
