The owls are finally on their way back... New chairman means business.. As soon as the last home game finished, the pitch was being ripped up, have a look if interested....
New scoreboard ordered, new pitch is a state of the art hybrid, usually 4 yr waiting list but chairman has paid higher price to jump queue...
Things are looking up, heard Klopp has told Liverpool he cannot commit to replacing Rodgers until he gets news about Stuart grays future at Hillsborough...

Time will tell. I'm certainly not getting excited about a new pitch and scoreboard. Will it make any difference to the performances? Let's hope he puts his hand in his pocket to get some decent players in this summer or I fear another season of mediocrity is on the cards.
Wednesday have made my cynical/pessimistic.

Let's hope he puts his hand in his pocket to get some decent players in this summer or I fear another season of mediocrity is on the cards. Wednesday have made my cynical/pessimistic. As someone who has been all season, I can assure you the pitch will make a massive difference. It was anti football, all teams struggled on it, some say well it's the same for both teams playing on it, but it isn't.... One team plays once on it and has 45 games elsewhere, the other has to play 23 games on it, it genuinely ruined chances and games I'm reserving full judgement but highlighting positives... Why would you buy a club for 40 million, spend millions on new pitch and scoreboard, if you have no intention of improving the team? It would be like buying an expensive house in waverley and then moving it brick by brick to the centre of the nearest council estate... Your investment would be gone... I have a good feeling about our new chairman... Fingers crossed

I disagree. What about the state of the Hillsborough pitch in the 90's when we were a top 3 side? It was much worse yet we were able to outplay most teams. Good footballers can adapt, unfortunately that's what we're lacking. I'm not saying the pitch and scoreboard are a waste of money or anything. If he's got the cash then great. I just don't think it'll have much impact on our success. Looking forward to the spending spree though!

I just don't think it'll have much impact on our success. Looking forward to the spending spree though! Well we will have to agree to disagree... I've watched it all season, and you only have to look at how the pitch effects other teams games, and how much better we play away from home. Lionel Messi will still miss when the ball takes a massive bobble just as he is swinging at it... www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9683968/hillsborough-pitch-riles-rowettwww.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/boro-set-pitch-woe-hillsboroughs-8728619It's not an excuse, it's just one of the reasons for poor form as it stops you playing football on the deck and hinders chances etc... And we get that 50% of the time... It's got to help to have a better pitch, and if the chairman can pay all that for one, it bodes well imo

Mid season check in.... What do people think then? Enjoying it Mick? I'm loving the football this season, been a dream to watch compared to last season, pitch has helped, and so have some good signings to grace it... Good progress, I think we will finish anywhere from 6th to 10th which is an improvement :-)

Yeah it's been great after an indifferent start. Once the players got to know each other and CC go to know his best team we've gone from strength to strength. I think the playoffs is within reach, but I won't be too disappointed if we don't make it. Could do with a few more signings in the January window to bolster the squad. UTO.

I'm currently likening it to the Watford side of 2012, they had an indifferent start due to huge number of signings and a takeover. Therefore I was never worried when it was a shaky start.
I like the fact that we are scoring goals again, that was the biggest frustration for me last season.
I like the fact that our bench would have been first on the team sheet last season, which shows how much we've improved the squad.
I like the fact that we can field an entirely different starting 11 and still compete in the championship. Even the 'third' eleven would be a decent league one team.
I like Carlos. I think he's a genuine guy and very open and honest in his interviews. Not like back in the days of Dave Jones when there was an excuse every week.
I don't like the fact that he keeps starting Nuhiu. Although he can be troublesome for defenders at times, he's out of his depth and is always looking for a decision by going down too easily. Hopefully Hooper will gain some match fitness and starting banging some in for us.
Looking forward to Derby on Sunday. Stoke was a bridge too far and shows how far we've still to go. I've no doubt we'll give Derby a game on Sunday and would be happy with a draw I think.
There's a part of me hoping we don't make the playoff final this season, mainly due to the fact that I'm at a wedding on that day!

The dizzy heights of the 90's were a bit before my time, so admittedly not much to compare against. apart from the 11/12 season, I feel like my season ticket is value for money for once. Good times ahead!
