Hello fellow Harron owners,
We have had a gas leak detected after having a boiler service which appears to have been leaking since we moved in just over 2 years ago. This resulted in our boiler and appliances being condemned by the servicer.
As this was a slow leak this has gone undetected by us and we would never have known if we hadn't had this service so firstly if you haven't had a service yet please get one done!
They found the leak under the floor boards running underneath our 3 year old daughters bedroom which is very worrying.
Harron did sort this out for us and their gas people (D Rose & Co) were very good, however Harron's attitude to this has been very disappointing.
A comment from the site manager has really riled us - along the lines of 'I suppose you will go and bad mouth us on the forum now. We don't pay any attention to that anyway, it just makes us laugh' which we think is absolutely appalling and indicates to us that they don't care one bit about you once they've sold you a house. (We have had various other problems over the course of the past 2 years as well which they have been slow to amend but that's not for this post as it would turn into more of an essay than it already is).
As we are now out of our 2 year NHBC guarantee we were unsure if we would be covered for this so we contacted NHBC directly and it turns out the Solicitors we used (Paul D'Ambrogio - the ones Harron recommended) hadn't even registered our home for NHBC, which is something they should have done on completion so we have had no cover in place other than our own insurances. We have since had to register our home for this ourselves to cover it for the 10 year guarantee.
It might be worth other Waverley residents giving NHBC a quick ring just to make sure your homes haven't been missed as well as this is something you tend to take for granted.
