Thanks Paul.
Couple questions for anyone ...
Where's this ? (300 acres have also been allocated for high quality public open space.)
and
Where's this? (Also at Waverley, the proposed HS2 line would impact an area which is designated for housing plots in the later stages of the development plan.)

Is this hs2 coming straight through waverley? Are the plans approved and passed for the rail line?

Nothing is confirmed yet. If the plans are approved to use Meadowhall as as station, as opposed to Sheffield City Centre, then the existing plans are for HS2 to pass through Waverley on the Eastern side. From memory I believe the line would be on stilts, for want of a better word, going along the South East portion where the lakes are, and then going into a cutting around where JTF/Morrisons is and then underneath the parkway.
If you search online there should be a map showing the plans. There might even be something linked on here.

Yeah I just rang Haworth up and she said no houses that are built and getting built are affected, it's just the land that has proposed housing on that they would have to leave. No houses are in the 200m buffer zone anyway apparently she said, so noise wise it shouldn't be too much of an issue. She said that the plans for the school ect are Definitley underway.
There's arguments for and against the descision, on the plus side prices could be higher as there is a better connection, or if it's a horrible eye sore and really loud I guess well all suffer !

Might not affect houses in terms of noise or general annoyance but it will be pretty close to the lakes and could affect future development down there. I can just imagine being sat having a pint at a lakeside bar when a train comes hurtling along at 70mph. Not good. I hope the whole thing gets canned.

i hope it all gets canned too ! its literally going to cut travel times down by half (but theyll probably slow it down for health and safety) but cost the government billions .... I mean tax payers .... Waverley is lovely how it is ... and im so excited for the rest of the development.

I personally agree... HS2 is a big fat waste of money in my opinion. Money that we dont have in the first place!

Sounds promising. Is it a truthful article or just something to put on the website?
