I'm going to be sitting down with Harworth Estates towards the end of March to discuss the gala this summer so it'd be good to get some ideas of what people would like to see. We have much more time this year and hopefully the weather will be on our side. We already have the Handsworth Road Hogs interested in doing a 5 & 10k race but other than that it's pretty much a blank canvas. Throw your ideas into the hat (sensible ones please nicro) and I'll bring them up at the meeting. Cheers Rich

A sprint triathlon? 750m swim around the lake, a 20K cycle ride and 5k run.
Bouncy castle and other traditional games for kids (get out the old school ala egg and spoon race, three legged races etc)
Hog roast / BBQ

We had a family fun day at work last year and they booked Titan the Robot, it was a great attraction: www.titantherobot.comHow about getting a local band for some live music as well? As Bish said bouncy castle type stuff, hook-a-duck, shooting galleries, mini fairground really. I've cream van goes down well and a burger bar!! We could ask a local brewery like Bradfield seeing as the estate street names have the connection? Local crafts as well, Shaun and his pictures, etc, Just a few thoughts anyway!!!

Bouncy castle. Fairground games. Perhaps a petting zoo/farm??
I'm guessing rules still stand about no food stalls due to the Winter Green?? Otherwise hog roast and ice cream van sounds great!

Anyone selling food would be dependent on whether the pub is involved. Last year they contributed financially but it was on the basis that they were the only ones selling food or drinks. I personally think it would be if we weren't restricted like this and we could have things like cake stalls. Will know more after the meeting.
