Morning all, I just wondered if anyone had any recommendations in terms of fitted wardrobes? We are going through the options process and spoke to TW who quoted us £1000 for Hammonds fitted wardrobes. We then came across Hammonds' January sale, which was 35% off, pay nothing for a year and then we can take out their interest free credit. We thought this would be the way to go, except when the lady came to speak to us we ended up with a quote for £3600!!!! (Apparently because TW buy in bulk they get heavy discounts, hence why theirs is only £1000) My question is, can anyone (not just TW but Harron and Barratt's owners as well) recommend any decent wardrobe fitters you might have used that were reasonably priced (either around the £1000 mark or even cheaper)? Thanks

Hi Matt, Hammonds are very good, but they are expensive and so I am not surprised by the over £3000 quote However, if you can get them to install via Taylor Wimpey for only £1000, and you are looking for quotes around that from others, I am not really sure why you dont just pay for it as an extra? Best of both worlds, Hammonds quality, at a price you would struggle to beat even using someone dodgy, and less than a third of the price of going direct? I've seen others on here post before about this and all have said its cheaper to do it as an optional upgrade (unless you could do it yourself... but would it be as good?). Apologies if you hav a reason for avoiding Hammonds via TW.....

"The Hammonds wardrobes at first fix are like a budget version." This is what we were told by the Hammonds guy who came to price us up. If you notice there is no back to the wardrobes, straight to a plastered wall but normal Hammonds wardrobes have a backing apparently.

Would rather save £2600 and put up with seeing the wall when I open the wardrobe With Harron our bedroom had fitted wardrobes. My wife called Hammonds out to price up a few extras, I soon sent the guy packing when he quoted. I decided to buy good quality solid wood free standing wardrobes for our other bedrooms.
