Could they not join Retford Road a bit further up, nearer the bridge, although would mean taking out some of the units on that industrial estate where the old Asda was?

Where does the link go to? I can't see it from the map. I like the idea of bypassing and funnelling traffic out of the likes of Woodhouse etc.

It's supposed to come out at the bottom of Woodhouse.. I think the area is called 'fence'

what the point?
Really? it would really save much time, spoil the waverley park.
the money would be better spent resurfacing Retford Road and improving the Parkway/Highfield Spring junction to relive traffic in the mornings.
just my thoughts....
Cheers

Great. It looks like if these roads become a reality the estate will become a ratrun.

Apparently Highfield Spring was a later addition, the main route from Handsworth to Catcliffe was traditionally straight through as shown on the map. It has always been part of the plan to replace this road as far as I'm aware.
