I have recently noticed that the lead flashing (which is part of the roof above the French Doors) is not mortared into the wall of the house.
The lead flashing is cut diagonally and folded into the brick work, but there is no pointing or mortar inbetween the bricks.
I kinda noticed this when I found a corner of the flashing adjacent to the French doors, pointing horizontally away from the wall. This was easily bent back to be flush with the wall, but it seemed strange that this is not sealed/glued/nailed into position.
With winter among us and the wind and rain, I am particularly concerned about water getting through the flashing and brickwork into my walls and the roof space above the french doors.
Harron Homes are aware of this issue and have informed me that they will have an Inspector to look at the brickwork / flashing.
I am quite flabbergausted at this situation. I thought Harron Homes were a good house builder, making quality homes (aside from appalling Customer Service!), but I have begun to question my opinion of them!

Have you had this fixed? Any lead flashing should be embedded at least 15-20mm in to a brick work chase. If they come to do it ensure they cut out a chase with an angle grinder deep enough and then repointed correctly.
