Hi all,
I've just reserved with TW last week, hoping to move in come June time next year.
I was just wondering what experiences people have had (whether it be with TW or one of the other builders) when it came to optional extras? Were they expensive? Did you use your own sources?
We've basically been told that all we'll really need to purchase to make the house liveable is flooring and appliances. I have the flooring sorted as a mate of mine fits carpets for a living and says he can smash their quotes anyway. We may just bite the bullet with the appliances and go with the builders just for convenience as I've heard things around needing to purchase the doors etc if you buy your own.
The other thing is fitted wardrobes. I wouldn't know where to start with that, but TW have admitted already that theirs are expensive. Has anyone used a retailer for fitted wardrobes? And if so, who would you recommend?

One bit of advice , if your buying a new home spend that little bit extra and go for integrated appliances it's well worth it and it looks complete too , the wardrobes we left out but to be fair we had Hammonds come out and quote and Hammonds through Tw are cheaper if I had to do it all again I would do the same apart from id have kitchen floor tiled

We got our own fitted wardrobes from wickes and did them ourselves was loads cheaper and never had a problem with them. We got all flooring from TW before moving in but plan on upgrading to laminate in the next year or so. Wish I'd just got it there and then

We upgraded the kitchen which was worth every penny. We also choose different door handles and glass in some of the doors. We also did all flooring through TW. Everything we did were really happy with. Wish we'd gone for more spot lights in the kitchen though.

Negotiate carpets as part of your sale in the price.

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to move into a TW home at the back end of the year. On their website, they refer to a 'range of different ways to pay for your optional extras'. Could anyone shed light onto what these are?
Many thanks in advance,
Steve

With Harron I had to pay for all my extras up front (which I didn't appreciate at the time). Did TW not do the same way?

Could anyone shed light onto what these are? Many thanks in advance, Steve Hi Steve, I literally just completed my options last weekend, and we opted to pay the minimum deposit (£1000) when signing off and then the rest on completion, however you can pay bits here and there, so long as it's paid by the time you complete. I'm not aware of a 'range of ways' to pay, although before we started the process I had in my head that we could just take out a bit more on the mortgage to cover the options, but I didn't take that thought any further as we had enough surplus from our previous sale to cover the cost of the options. Thanks, all.
Matt, I don't suppose you have a spare options brochure (PDF, printed or website URL as some TW developments have) that you could share, do you?

No pay when sale goes through Much better that way, can then add to mortgage if necessary. I had to have the cash up front to pay for the extras with Harron.

I wouldn't been able to afford any extras as I used cash from house sale
