Managed to get a quick look round a few weeks before moving in, but that was mainly because I was worried that our extras were not right after looking through the windows (which they weren't).
Basically we had to do the snagging the day we moved in, but they were really good about adding things to the list afterwards.
We did the snagging ourselves... You can find lots of things on line to help you that help you with it but most of it is common sense anyway... Just take lots of time.
Actually that reminds me... I need to contact harron tomorrow. Been in almost 4 months now and still have a crack in our front door panel that was there when we did the snagging. A pretty poor performance really!!

Yes p99ull, thats the one thing that is concerning. I'd prefer to get christmas out of the way before moving. It gives them more time to do the job right and allows me to chill out for the festivities. They seem hell bent on getting them done. With any new build I would expect some snags, I just don't want any nasties to contend with over the holiday period. Every room will be checked. I'm fully aware from these boards that the builders aftercare is hit and miss. Forewarned is forearmed. :-)

Although you'll have to give things a good looking over, I really don't think you'll regret buying a Harron home. :-)

Throwing people at them to get them finished sounds good... But I would worry about the quality. Make sure you spend lots of time making sure everything is right when you get chance. Rushing will probably mean the workers arn't given enough time to do the job properly :-( Did you snag yourself or get a professional in? An did you manage to get them to let you snag before you moved in or did you have to do it after? Go in before any of your removals are moved in. Snag the big ticket items and be sure to make a list. Go around with the Harron sales rep that hands over your keys. They will also make a list. On your first day in snag every room. Pay attention to windows and door frames, toilets, taps, showers. We had a snag list of 40. Only a couple big ticket items. Rest were relatively minor. To be fair I was pleased with the overall build quality of our property.

They will look to close out the deal for their end of quarter sales figures.

Hi guys,
Anyone living in a Kinnersley who opted against the built in fridge freezer, what's the maximum width fridge freezer we could fit in the space? It's hard to tell from the drawings.
Thanks in advance.

You can ask them to remove the end unit and then you can fit in a bigger fridge (900mm) we didn't have the end unit installed because we were hoping to fit an American fridge freezer in the space. Ended up having 880mm to play with and most are at least 890mm wide. Just 10mm short but it might as well have been a mile! We then had to trawl through all the oddball widths (750mm,790mm,840mm) that were all more expensive to find one we were happy with.

This might sound daft to you, but what was in the way? From the pictures I've seen, it looks open planned and the fridge freezer unit was the last unit. Is there some kind of lip on the wall?

I think the builders must have done something weird with your kitchen... Just checked and I've definitely got a 900mm and it fits perfectly without the end unit. This is the fridge... www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/refrigeration/fridge-freezers/kenwood-kff2dw14-american-style-fridge-freezer-white-10002073-pdt.htmldefinitely worth checking what size space you're going to have before committing to anything, maybe ask the builders?

Aye that would drive me mad as well to be honest.
How's the downstairs lounge/family room for space? Apologies for the grilling, we're just trying to prepare ourselves and get a rough idea for what kind of sofa etc we can have. Any info is much appreciated.

Downstairs space is pretty good but we found that shopping for a sofa that wouldn't look too cramped was a bit of a bind. No room for flared arms or corner units due to the position of one radiator and the door. The room is long enough to sort of split the zones between the kitchen and living room without making any special effort.
