hi,
weve lived in our our property for a year and my partner recently bunged some plug hole cleaner down the en suite shower and ever since we have this non to pleasant smell - does anyone have any ideas what this is, my partner was worried she had damaged something but I'm thinking it's likely to be a block somewhere
Has this happened to anyone else and ideas and tips welcomed

Hi, we are in a Taylor Wimpey home and we've noticed the same thing coming from the kitchen sink. Can't smell it til you open the cupboard and then the it smells quite unpleasant. I'd also put unblocker down the drain before this happened. Would appreciate any help or advice!

The en suite drain from the shower could possibly be linked to the wash bowl (as ours is) which can sometimes cause lose of seal to trap. This is probably the cause of the unpleasant smell. When we unblocked our sink, it caused a smell in the shower, but cleared. Don't know if that helps.

Hi, I live at a barratt home but I have this problem since I moved in a year ago and the issue only just sorted. Apparently, if the cover of the shower drain tray waste is loosen, when you flush your toilet, the cover will be push up by the pressure. And the cover supposed to be tighten so to stop the sewage air to escape. Hence, if you let your sink water to flow, you can hear some sounds that to fill up the water surface of your shower drain to prevent the gas to escape. I don't know if I have explained well, but I send you this website to show you the shower drain tray, if your cover is tight and kind of hard to be pulled out, not the grey cover, the white cover surround with a rubber circle (you can test by flushing your toilet bowl and see if the cover being pushed up), if not, then maybe is the valve (mine is at the loft) has damaged and need to be replaced, and your developer should deal this problem for you. Hope this help. aquabliss.co.uk/90mm-chrome-cap-highflow-shower-tray-waste?gclid=CPKm26q6htQCFQgz0wodI54G0Q
