Hi guys, Just saw your thread about the 5k, I know there is the handsworth running club in the area but I am looking to develope a more social group for beginners. I am employed by England Athletics and Run England and aim to innitiate new groups in local areas. Since moving to Waverley I have spotted a number of runners around and thought starting a new group specifically for Waverlye would be a great idea, maybe getting the new pub involved as a meeting point or a well seserved drink afterwards. My role would be to run an I week program for new runners and within those new runners to headhunt a leader who could then be supported in continuing the group if wanted after the 8 weeks. Any intrest in this would be great voiced on here, I will also plan on sending some leaflets door to door and if possible getting a stall/stand to introduce this idea at the gala. Please let me know your interest, the group will be more social and a run walk group if neccessary and there will be no pressure just a chance to meet up and enjoy Waverly. Have a look at www.runengland.co.uk for more info on what they do. Hoping this to be a great new venture for thw community

Hi We are moving to Waverley in June and I took up running at the end of last year. I would love to join a group when we move as it may motivate me to get out running more. I am still a beginner so what you propose sounds great. Im already planning a route to run when we move in.

I'd be interested in this. I'm a fair weather runner mind, and need to get back into it. Went for my first run in ages the other day and it was kn*ckering.
