Been in touch with LABC and NHBC today to pursue our complaint which Harron Homes are ignoring (basically sent 5 emails and given them 21 days to respond and not one of the 6 people we've emailed has bothered to respond), I was informed that our house is NOT registered with either, which means our home does not have the 10 year warranty, also we were informed by LABC we shouldn't even be living in the house!
Wanted to put it out there, please check you have your certificate and if you don't, query it with LABC or NHBC, it's very worrying and we will be getting in touch with Rotherham Borough council, Trading standards and our solicitor, we will be taking it much further.
We're devastated and feel we've been cheated out of our hard earned money, just hope no one else is in this situation, please, please check people.

Hi. That site is all under LABC not NHBC. Theoretically without the CML certificate your solicitor should not have released the funds. This is a legal requirement. Chances are your house is registered and has been passed fit for habitation (use the term loosely) and the cml certificate has been issued but the buildmark certificate is missing. It's more administrative than anything else. I know Harron well enough to know this will just be a cock up in the office rather than any intentional attempt to short change you
I hope this helps

Even if it is an admin error, it is serious one, as it's only us who've been lied to, but our mortgage company. A mortgage company should not release funds without a CML certificate and a CML certificate should not be produced with out a property having a registration under a warranty body such as LABC or NHBC.
Someone somewhere has made a serious error and someone will pay, it's fraud at the end of the day!

Exactly the same thing happened to us - didn't have one until 3 months after moving in. The only reason we got one was by telling Harron we were seeking legal advice (which I did) we soon got a paper copy via email!!

Thanks, I'm so worried, we're also seeking legal advice over an issue with the fitting of our kitchen, only reason we found out was because we wanted to initiate the disputed resolution process offered by LABC. We're going into the sales office today and they will be asked to sort it out by Monday morning, after which we will be taking them to court. They don't seem to understand these homes represent people's life savings and the smallest of issue is a big deal, Harron Homes need to learn the meaning of empathy and use it for a change. Sick of hearing they have no budget for snags and it's all there contractors fault!

Shocking!
It took us 20 months to chase the receipt of our certificate.

Shocking! It took us 20 months to chase the receipt of our certificate. This is disgusting, we're going to get some legal advice and check with Trading standards what our rights are, I'm sure they've broken some law regarding misleading customers
