Hi everyone. We are due to move onto Rosewood Drive this Friday. During our home demo we were told the grass included in our purchase would not be put down due to waterlogged state of the back garden. We were told lots of other gardens are the same and that there is nothing that can be done other than simply to wait until the garden has dried out enough to lay the turf. We have two dogs and the idea of sending them out into what is practically a mud bath then welcoming them back into my beautiful new kitchen is pretty worrying. I wanted to ask if any neighbours have had the same issue and if you have come up with any ideas that have worked for you as a way of using the garden in the meantime? Thanks everyone!!!

We moved in in Oct 14, where the winter was cold and very wet. It was impossible for me to lay turf. The earth was very boggy, not helped by the 2ft of top soil that had still not settled. Walking anywhere in the back garden meant I would lose my feet. I had to wait until April before I could rotavate the earth a number of times before then laying the turf in the summer.
There is a high % of clay in the soil so generally speaking drainage is poor.

I forgot to mention that we would have standing water for weeks on end.
