Is the Waverley link road the bypass which has been talked about over the years and basically follows the haul road from the Highfield lane roundabout over the back of the lakes to come out at woodhouse mill.

Unfortunately not quite (unless the plans changed). The last plans for the waverley link road actually came over past the lakes and connected to Highfield Lane as a T junction, bizarrely not joining the roundabout, (joined HL roughly where those trucks turn off to dump stuff, just next to the Barratt section). By not linking straight to the roundabout they will encourage traffic in to the estate and rat runs... People will head right on Highfield Lane to Catcliffe once it opens up and may drive through the estate rather than going left to the roundabout... Hope the plans have changed from this now but I don't have faith in the planning.....
