Good evening,
My name is Lindsey Burgin and I am a Vice Principal within ACET (Aston Community Education Trust). I am very interested in gathering feedback regarding the thoughts, ideas, feelings and wishes of parents/carers resident in the Waverley area regarding the new proposed Waverley primary school. The key questions that I would like to gather feedback on include:
Waverley Parent/Carer Feedback – Your new school
1. What should the new primary school at Waverley look like? Why?
2. What resources and facilities do you feel it is important for the new school to have? Why do you feel that these resources and facilities are needed?
3. How important is it that the new school has early years provision from 2+?
4. How should the new school in your local area feel (ethos)? What involvement and role do you feel it should have in the local community?
5. What are your thoughts regarding the curriculum? What learning areas, curriculum structure and opportunities would you like to see?
6. The new school will be either a Free School or part of a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). What requirements would you be looking for to support a particular academy sponsor?
7. ACET are committed to providing extra-curricular and enrichment learning opportunities for all young people. Do you feel that early morning and after school provision would be beneficial to children at a new primary school in Waverley?
8. Aston Academy is one of the secondary schools that serves the Waverley area. How beneficial do you feel it would be for your child to transfer to a secondary school that thoroughly understands their early years, KS1 and KS2 learning progress and can build on this?
9. How important is it to you that the new academy sponsor has experience in relation to working with and supporting developments in primary schools?
10. Do you have any further information that you would like to share with us regarding your hopes for a new academy sponsor and/or what the new school in Waverley will do to help to transform learning experiences in your local area?
I have posted an ACET information leaflet through most doors in the Waverley area. Thank you to those people that have already submitted requests for further information and have requested our ACET prospectus once published. It would be fantastic if you feel that you were able to respond to any of the questions above.
If you feel that you are able to respond and you would like to share your thoughts and ideas please email me at lindsey.burgin@astonacademy.org. I am more than willing to attend any Waverley Residents Association or community meetings that you may be holding in the future if you would like further information about ACET and our evolving vision for the learning and life experiences of children, young people and the wider Waverley community.
Very best wishes,
Lindsey Burgin.
