Hi, there are a quite a few posts on schools here which have explored this topic if you have a little search. You do apply online, you should get sent details nearer the time. It's really easy. I'd start looking at the local schools which are Brinsworth Howarth and Catcliffe.

Hi We moved here about 18 months ago and our twins joined Catcliffe Primary for year 6. We all had a fantastic experience at the school. The headteacher, teachers and all non teaching staff are fully committed to the children and often go above and beyond their normal duties to help and educate the pupils. Please do not be put off by the external appearance of the buildings. You can call them to arrange a visit to look around and meet some of the staff before you complete your online application. As we are fairly new to the area I don't know much about the other schools but we did find that most of them were over subscribed and that you might have to drive to one. Myself and the kids used to walk down the red shingle path towards Catcliffe from Lescar Road. It takes about 25 minutes. I have noticed some other children walking a little bit further to Brinsworth Howarth school.

I think we're quite lucky that we have two nice primaries within walking distance. It's about which feels better for your child. It's a worthwhile investment of time to go and take a look round and speak with teachers.
