Same here Jenni. We find out Monday whether it will be 9th or 16th. Turning into a bit of a nightmare. I don't mind when we would be moving but I just want some certainty.

Some of you expecting to move in this year may want to get a backup plan, the company is having a rethink about forcing people in 2 days before Christmas this year. I have this on good authority.
And again Hayley stop lying!!

And again Hayley stop lying!! She's not lying. Sorry to upset anyone waiting for news but we eventually moved in on 23rd December last year and it went down pretty much exactly like she says - a combination of dates pushed back by Harron and some ridiculous issue with the title deeds. I was sat in our old house on the 21st, with our 9 month old baby, surrounded by boxes, trying to keep sane and waiting for someone to confirm what was going on. It was horrible. If Harron are having a re-think then at least some lessons have been learned from the chaos and terrible experience we had last year. It will be disappointing for those of you who are hoping to be in before the new year but we would have been happy to wait a couple of weeks more to have a properly finished home, and to not have to live in the property while all the cut corners got sorted later on. I thought moving was supposed to be stressful but that was nothing compared to the weeks that followed. And before you say that I'm lying too, I have had the company's own contractors, CSOs and sales staff tell me that last year was bad and the site staff knew it.

We were due to move in on Friday 19th Dec 2014, I had 3 days booked off work for the move which would have been brilliant until we received a phone call at 3:00pm on Thursday 18th saying they'd put it back until Monday 22nd which was my first day due back on shift. So I had to beg borrow and steal to get the Monday off. Even on the Monday it wasn't finished properly, we didn't get the keys until 3:00pm and when my wife saw the standard of finish she was in tears, all the paint was wet and we had to wait until the new year for the wardrobe fitter to come out and put the fitted wardrobes in; and then began the endless round of phone calls and wasted days off trying to get the many, many snags sorted. Good luck, I really hope they have learned a lesson or two over the last couple of years.

Thanks everyone for the info, it's good to be prepared for challenges ahead and to learn from others' experiences.
My move date has now officially been pushed back to 22nd, but only (I'm told) to ensure 10 clear working days between build completion and moving day... so that I can have the house demo etc. This does ring true because I know that the second fix electrics, plastering, painting, radiators, bathrooms and kitchen are all complete and they are tiling this week... so many of the things that others have mentioned seem to have been completed and we're still 3 weeks ahead of build sign off. Don't get me wrong I'm not going to be complacent, I can't afford to be, but I have to only deal with things as they come up whilst mitigating any risks by insisting on the home demo etc.
A few people have mentioned not getting their demos.. were they planned in and then cancelled due to lack of time? Or didn't they do them then? I really don't mind 22nd as long as it's done far enough in advance to have a proper handover.
Thanks

Last year demo's never got planned/booked/happened due to the numerous delays. Everything was that rushed that In the end we got the briefest of brief walk arounds from one of the sales girls on the morning we moved after our solicitor refused to transfer the money till we'd actually been shown the house. They were trying their best not to do them because they had that many of us moving all at once. We were also promised that the site manager would come and give us a proper demo. Think it must have been booked for the 31st of February as he's still not been.

Thanks, that's helpful to know... so maybe them moving my date back a fortnight rather than leaving it the day after new sign off day is them learning from your experiences, being optimistic about it. As I said it's relatively complete already inside. Hopefully those two weeks in between sign off and move date will allow them to do a proper demo. fingers crossed. thanks again J

Jenni, we have had our date confirmed as 16th December and the home demo has been booked in for 13th. I think Harron have learnt from last year and the site manager is trying to make sure the houses are finished properly rather than rushing in. I hope so anyway! Ours is due to be signed off by the building inspector on 2nd December which gives them two weeks to finish all the cosmetics.

Hi all,
We've had our date confirmed today as the 9th with our home demo on the 8th. Obviously very close together but I think there are quite a few moving in on the 9th so they have a full week of demos.

Thanks both. That's great news... I'm glad you're sorted and I'm glad you've got home demos planned in. The signs are positive! You're probably going to have to have those pre Christmas drinks without me though as I'm still looking at 22nd 🙈

Just out of interest, I can't remember which plots you have... do your houses have external rendering? I've been told that's what the delay with mine is.

Hi Jenni
We are plot 204 and ours does have external rendering which they also indicated would be the main factor that could cause a delay. Fingers crossed for some good weather so they can get it done Looks like welcome drinks will be the Winter Green on Xmas eve!
