Ooo no, prefer the car. And could have to go to a meeting anywhere in the UK at a moment's notice. Often use the train for longer journeys though, just park up at Meadowhall station for free. I hope there is more than 3 people per carriage when you get on the train ;-)

I'm a much bigger fan of trains You might not like them as much when HS2 is tearing past your front door

Is that on the master plan? Not that it matters, it'll probably change. HS3 is needed more than HS2.

Well yes, but the Range Rover only goes to Sheffield Business Park and back... Hahaha you couldn't make this up! That's actually where I work! Big glass building in the middle. Haha... My Range Rover only goes to the business park and back as well. We could all car share and leave a fleet of Range Rovers at home on the drives. :-)

Cycling to the business park takes 10 minutes and there's a cycle track. Leave those cars at home. 👍

I'd happily walk it if I worked there, I like walking, but unfortunately I work from home.

It makes me feel sad that people are actively trying to stop a bus going through the estate. There are kids having to walk to school because the current stop is almost as far away as walking to school would be, young mums struggling up and down the red path, older people being made to walk off the estate to the bus stop, people carrying heavy bags of shopping from morrisons, and green minded people choosing not to drive cars and embrace the environmentally friendly vision of the architects. And then there are the 'I'm alright Jack' brigade with 2 or 3 cars on their drive who don't think twice about taking others convenience away from them. When I moved on to Waverley, I loved the community spirit that I was buying into but I've seen a different side to people. Community spirit is fine just as long as we get our own way I agree, we have children that need to. Arch a bus to school and having a bus that comes through the estate gives us peace of mind knowing our children don't have to go onto the main road. We always knew of the plans for the bus and school and researched this before we signed on the dotted line .

Not on the master plan but one of the proposed HS2 routes is through the bottom of the estate and straight through morrisons car park. However there is now a proposal for the route to follow the M18 instead which is a lot better for us ;-) However nothing is set in stone yet including whether HS2 will ever happen at all ;-)

I can however understand folk on Lescar Road being peeved as that was never flagged as a potential bus route and therefore a consultation should have taken place with those residents affected.[/quote]
Rich (admin) I have quoted you above as I wondered if a poll could be done to see what the opinion is. I know there is one on the Facebook group, but not everyone is on there. So thought it might be useful to duplicate it here. Is that possible?

All I can say is that after being told by Barratt, "there might be a bus come through at some point in the future, but will probably only be that little A1 Waverley bus" we were surprised when it turned out to be one of the busiest services with the biggest buses. I can assure you that we haven't complained formally. We don't use a bus so would be unfair of us to do that and, like lots of other people, have family who do rely on public transport. It will be a commercial decision at the end of the day, and will always be a divisive subject. As well as those who use public transport and those who don't, there will be differing opinions between those on or close to the route from those nowhere near it. But that's what this forum is for, so everyone can voice their opinion and be heard.
One thing I do need to speak to Harworth about though is the speed bump directly outside our house. The rock trucks and road sweeper have completely worn the paint off and a lot of people don't realise it's there - many buses, cars and vans bounce over it; it needs repainting. I think speed on the estate is a general thing that needs addressing. I know it's not just the buses but some of them have hit it at speed this week literally rattling things in the house and that's really not helping us to get used to them passing.
