Claire in Taylor Wimpey sales office is brilliant and efficient at selling houses ... but their after sales team suck. They promise but do not deliver when it comes to repairing their barely legal construction material.
Take, as an example, exactly a week ago, we dropped into the sales office to say that shower mixer in the master bathroom has come to a grinding hall. Claire told the or a Customer Service on site who telephoned us to say that on Tuesday the a plumber would come by to have a look and that the site manager would also come to check out (again) the other things which they promised to fix but never did.
Did not go to work on Tuesday, stayed home all day and guess what ... true to form ... no one showed up. No one called. Umpteen telephone calls to Customer Service. Unable to - up to the time of writing - to reach the Customer Service manager.
This mixer went bump previously and had to be replaced. The shower flimsy shower tray was also defective and the mecahnism around the legs cracked so the legs would not stay in place. At the time, they said they could not get in replacement parts so a carpenter/joiner came over and stuck a couple of 2x4 pieces of wood underneath to prop up the tray. I offered to buy a proper quality tray and asked if they could install it. The site manager said yes but warned that the two-year warranty on the ENTIRE house would have to be cancelled.
Can't use the other shower now because one of the legs on the flimsy shower tray collapsed. This tray too is defective. Taylor Wimpey site manager checked it and said so. Customer Service said they ordered, received and sent over replacement parts. Result months later? No sign of parts or repairman. Several calls. Several promises. Result - still no one in sight.
BEWARE.
