Hi,
Any one else been having problems with Barratts customer service department in the last 2/3 months?
I've got tiny jobs that I reported 3 months ago that haven't been done, some have had nothing done about them at all, some have had visits and then statements along the lines of we'll order that in and come back in a couple of weeks to fit and then nothing. I've reminded them a few times and each time there has been promises of action and even some actual action but in the end it seems to come to nothing.
Other things have been sorted within a few days. I wonder if its just certain trades that there are issues with? They seem to have houses at all stages of construction so you would have though all the trades were on site in any given week.
I have a few more things to add, the warm weather has shown a couple of extra problems up, so I wonder how long it will be before these are done.

I can’t comment too recently. We moved in during December and we were pleasantly surprised how quickly and efficiently Barratt sorted the vast majority of our snags (all of which were pretty minor). There was just one issue that took a couple months to resolve, but it still got sorted after a bit of back and forth between various contractors. We did report a door that was catching a couple months ago and again were impressed that within 30mins of talking to customer service someone was knocking on the door wanting to fix it.
Are you going through the customer service number? I think that’s is a good way of making sure that the problem is properly logged and known to be an ongoing problem back at HQ (which should prompt site to get it sorted).

Had a few new snags (been here over a year) that I rang up about 2 months ago. The one that was dealt with by their customer care team was dealt with on the same day as he was already in the area, the other that had to go to a contractor I've not even heard about.
Put it all in writing yesterday with a few others that I thought I would ask about and today have had a phone call from Barratts and already 3 contractors have arranged a time to attend.
Best to put it all in writing and email them NB new email address yorkshirewest@newhomecare.co.uk. Dianne has always been good and the only time we've had a problem is when we've not dealt with her.

I have been going through the yorkshire west office and the emails are signed by Dianne. I did phone at first but they are only open office hours so its just easier to email. I guess its just a case of chasing, chasing, chasing until they finally sort things out.
Yesterday I talked to someone who lived in the next street who again said the same as us, some things sorted quickly some things just seemingly ignored.
Good job we didn't pay six digit sums for these houses we bought from them...

What trinity21 says seems to be true. Partner got a bit annoyed with them after another missed appointment, now we have one job completed and another appointment with a contractor we haven't heard from in months. The job that is completed was 5 minutes diagnosis and 30 minutes fitting but it took 3 months to get those 35 minutes of time. The other appointment was only a promise to look not to actually do anything.
Spoke to someone else who claims that the contractors who aren't keen to come are the ones that have to come from Leeds. Seems like the guys who adjust the doors just wander over from the site.
