Hi All,
I am after some advice, my girlfriend and I have reserved plot 157 however I have noticed that Harron have now lowered the asking prices of The other Hanley's by 10k than what we have agreed!
We are currently going through the mortgage application so all the figures are already in place! Would you raise this with Harron?

Yes definitely! Bring it up with them - Why should you pay 10K more?

Yes, it would be silly not to at least ask the question! They might not be willing to change the price now but you could push for some extras for free? Back garden turfed and a few other things!? I'd be looking for a good few grands worth of stuff.
Are they paying your stamp duty? If not you could try and get them to pay that for you?

Thanks for the responses. I think I will use the philosophy of if you don't ask you don't get. We have paid to have the turf in the back garden as an extra as well as a plug socket.
They have thrown in standard floors and carpets as well as a fridge freezer. They are also paying stamp duty and a grand towards legal fees.
My concern is that instead of paying 10k extra for a garage we're paying 15k and they may reduce the prices even more.

Just out of interest, have you got the 'legal fees' part on paper? They said they would pay £500 of our fees and then denied it on completion day as they hadn't written it down. Make sure EVERYTHING is written down and you have copies!
If needed, take photos of everything you sign in the showroom.
One last thing... They threw in standard carpets for us, but we paid a couple of hundred quid to upgrade to the next level. There is a massive difference in quality from the standard stuff they put in to the first level carpet upgrade! Something to think about :-)

Tell them you're struggling to get a mortgage because they've knocked the valuation down on the others.....worth a try.
