Unfortunately, so do we. It's because of the stagnant water that's settled opposite Lescar Road on the undeveloped land. We even get a lot of mosquitoes as a result - hope hey don't bite!

Is that what they are ? Surely Harworth have an obligation to sort it out for us?
The gardens will be unusable in the summer if not ... No bbqs haha

We also have midges, drain flies and mosquitos that can swarm around at different times of day. Having done a bit of research on these fellas they all have in common that they all like to breed and hang out in wet/damp places. Wasn’t quite mentioned on the brochure as one of the benefits of a lakeside development, but I think the problem is much more local than that. At the moment there’s still lots of standing water on the building areas, and many back gardens are still fairly damp due to Waverley’s other not so well advertised feature – piss poor drainage due to heavy clay in the area. My hope is that as areas are more developed over the summer and gardens dry out more there will be less breeding areas for them and they’ll move on / die out. I also plan to plant some mosquito repelling plants such as rosemary and lavender – have a google there’s quite a few plants they hate. Also a good tip I’ve read is keep your lawn nice and short – it stays drier and is doesn’t give anywhere for midges to hide (they like long wet grass). Could anyone who’s been at Waverley a while provide any insight? Did you find you had lots of flys/midges/mosquitos in the early days but the problem over time subsided?
