Our ensuite WC has not been flushing properly so I took the cistern lid off to have a look at what the problem might be. To my horror I found the cistern was full of steaming hot water!!! More of a concern is we are now out of warranty (yes - I never noticed after living here for 3 years, unbelievable!)
I'm going to try HH anyway but not expecting much. Wish me luck!

I'm not a plumber but my guess is that they've connected it to the hot water pipe!

I feel like stating the obvious gives my life purpose. My 'good deed for the day' if you will...
(Did I manage to dig myself out of that one?)

That's one way to keep the germs at bay! Actually it's the opposite. Warm-ish water that's been sitting for a while is a breeding ground for legionella. Might use this as an angle in my inevitable battle with Harron Homes. I'm spoiling for the fight now. So far they've just ignored me but I'm playing the long game (which is probably for the best with HH). It's going to be a reyt job to strip all the tiles off to get behind the cistern and pipe it up properly. Mainly just annoyed with myself that it's taken 3 years to notice. Makes me wonder if they've done the same to the other bogs. I'm going to check tonight...

I'm starting to get a bit fed up of this forum... Far too much toilet humour! ;-)

They fixed our toilet after poogate last year and we were out of warranty at the time too. I think you've just taken the lead in the 'most stupid thing they've done' competition. :0)
