My wife was reading this last night - The salient parts are from page 31 onwards. Was wondering what other people thought about the land opposite "The Strip - Lescar Road" potentially being the new location for Waverley Walk linking the local centre with the lakes. Town planning WaverleyThanks

Hi, thanks for this information. Does anybody please have a link, or can tell me more about what exactly waverley walk is? I have tried searching, but am finding very little information! Thanks!

Hi Hannah, I presume you mean the road 'Waverley Walk' which you can see on the Oak Dene Mount Site Plan Phase 3. If you go along Highfield Lane on the right there is the land that Barratts are proposing flats. There is a sharp right bend onto Oak Dene Way. The first left after that is where Harron Homes have started building houses. This is the first half of Waverley Walk. The other half doesn't exist yet.

Hi guys, me and my partner are about to exchange contracts on a plot on Lescar Road; is there any confirmation on what will be built on the land opposite? Every time I ask in the sales office they just tell me "they're not sure", which I'm a bit sceptical about.

Hi @matt83. We are also about to exchange for Lescar road imminently. We only found out as we contacted the planning department at Rotherham Council and I spoke directly to the person managing the Waverley site with Harworth Estates. I was told that it WAS intended to be the Community centre and school and Doctors Surgery. This is now, however, being moved to the plot of land adjacent to the Wintergreen. Opposite Lescar Road is now going to be more residential. What isn't confirmed is "Waverley Walk", which provisionally will be a "divide" between Lescar Road and the next phase of residential development. Which Plot have you opted for @matt83? Good luck with the exchange!

Hi sifu, thanks for the reply. We've got plot 249, and you? We were dude to exchange contracts on the 6th of November but are still waiting for Harron to sort something out at their end. Had to chuckle as they were insistant that we had all the relevant paperwork etc in place for the sixth, yet it's them who are holding things up!

Thanks for that Doob! We are also buying on Lescar Road (236) and waiting to exchange, we were told October, then 13th November, had a call tonight to say they are expecting the title deeds this week, so will wait and see, not holding my breath!

Hi Hannah, we were in the sales office earlier today and they told us next week for sure. We aren't holding our breath either!

I'd laugh if it wasn't so serious - you couldn't make this stuff up! We were supposed to be exchanging "end of August" , completing 18th Dec. We are plot 234. Have been told week after week that exchange is "imminent" but no joy. Likewise, HH insisted we had paperwork in by August to "speed things along". I shall badger Sue / Jenny tomorrow to see where we are at.

Town planning WaverleyThanks Page 49 onwards looks like Aldi are pressing forward with their store at Swallownest. Does that make them less likely to be takers for the unit on Waverley?
