Hi,
I've had a letter about the planning application and, though have been to have a look, it is a little technical and I cannot work out if we have been successful in our objections. It had been conditionally granted and I am pleased to see that they have added to the ecological section to take other species into account.
Perhaps someone who understands the planning jargon can enlighten me?
thanks

To put it simply without swearing
Barratts 1 Residents 0
Not one single concession made or concern addressed

What a shock, and a waste of time.

There is a positive in this. Lots of people including those who were able to see that though the application did not affect them negatively, it affected others, mobilised their concerns and raised objections to the application. At least we stood up to it.
Other than that, and the amended eco survey, it is a bag of crap. Can it be appealed?

It's pretty lousy that the developers think it's acceptable to ignore the concerns of the very people who have bought their properties. How about we organise a mini protest outside the Barratt office. They might take notice if they get some negative publicity or have us put off potential buyers.

All objections to the application have now been removed from the Rotherham Council Website. Is this usual ?

No... It's not unusual.

Did anyone have a visit from the councillor or see him when he did his walkabout to get residents views or hasn't he got round to it yet?

I didn't, and I'm next to the development, nor has he sent a note thru letterbox ?
Not exactly sure what he can do, now it's been approved ?

The previous application already met the criteria for approval by the planning board so was therefore already acceptable legally. The amended application is in response to the feedback that has been received and concerns about the proposed development. My biggest concern was with the parking provision. 14 additional spaces was far more than I thought the developer would agree to so from this context I'm quite pleased. As I'm not a member of the planning board my position is ensure the views of the majority of residents are clearly put to the planning board when the application is put before them. I'll be out on the doorstep to talk with residents prior to the application being heard and will make a decision on my response after hearing peoples views.
The above is what the councillor put on another thread. I assumed he must have done it as he clearly stated he would. Would love to know what happened and what his response was.
Anyone know the date of his next surgery?

I'm also next to the proposed site and haven't heard a thing from the Councillor.
