Barratt Homes have now submitted an amended application for the apartment block developments. Following feedback and concerns raised by myself and residents they have now increased the parking provision with an additional 14 more spaces being provided. If anyone would like to see the plans please drop me a line, darren.hughes@rotherham.gov.uk, and I'll forward them on. Alternatively I'll have them at my next surgery on Thursday 24th September at the technology centre.

Do you think that these revised plans are now acceptable?

The previous application already met the criteria for approval by the planning board so was therefore already acceptable legally. The amended application is in response to the feedback that has been received and concerns about the proposed development. My biggest concern was with the parking provision. 14 additional spaces was far more than I thought the developer would agree to so from this context I'm quite pleased. As I'm not a member of the planning board my position is ensure the views of the majority of residents are clearly put to the planning board when the application is put before them. I'll be out on the doorstep to talk with residents prior to the application being heard and will make a decision on my response after hearing peoples views.

I was aware that legally they were acceptable, but many thanks for pointing that out councillor. I'm sure the residents of Waverely will be delighted to have a chat with you although I'm going to stick my neck out and say perhaps the majority will be a tad disappointed that Barratts will be (As Electronic sang in 1989) " Getting away with it". You never know they may even post their views on here!

Thanks for forwarding the plans Darren Although it doesn't propose 14 "new" spaces as 4 layby spaces on the old plan have been removed to enable this dogs breakfast to be cobbled together. So only 10 new spaces in total and now less green amenity space......nice

Its so sad to know that these builders have only one thing in mind, a quick profit. Next thing they will be putting up 20 story block of flats. I think if the current residents don't challenge their irresponsible behaviour, get ready guys worse to come... we need to stand together and address these issues. Why don't their sales office tell the potential buyers upfront that that they will be putting up multi story flats next to them before they start spending their hard earned money? sales teams needs to be honest with the new comers..
