I have spoken to Dransfield a few weeks ago to ask if they have any electronic information that they can share. Hopefully they will have something that can be used.
Im sure that comments will also be made on the forum following Fridays consultation. I'll ask about the gym when I go.

I don't suppose they are doing the same with the school consultation aswell?

I'm going along today at 2pm and am quite looking forward to it and interested to see what they are planning.
Bizarre though that it's barely advertised anywhere!

The development seems nice enough but if it's so successful that it attracts lots of visitors then it could be a potential nightmare for access onto the estate. Stephenson way access or Mitchell way access will still lead in from Highsfield spring. When there is an event on at the pub, it is a nuisance to get through with the overspill of car parking everywhere reducing road width. Add an event and people queuing to a new development and you have potential gridlock. If they put a filter lane somewhere along Highfield Spring and access from there then it might be easier. That said I'm not a qualified street planner. When there was road works at Morrisons we all saw the queues of cars. So now imagine a full or nearly full car par, a wintergreen event or not and idiot drivers who dither and can't decide where to park queing to get onto thecretail park. How do the residents access thier estate from that end? It should be easier from Handsworth end but. I dont know, perhaps i'm too pesemistic. I still feel sorry for the folks facing that space.

I think more access points on highfield spring would be counter productive too traffic flow and possibly end up with more people using the estate as a rat run once highfield lane connects up with popular way at catcliffe. Also the difference in level from highfield spring to the land that's being developed would be restrictive to what you'd be able to do within reasonable budgets. It could also prove counter productive in that what ever space would be lost to access ramps/slip roads would ultimately come from the parking spaces not retail space therefore adding to the problem you were trying to solve in the first place.
